The time had come, it was time to start with the plan. Judy worked late making it up with the help of Fru Fru, so that teamwork was assured in case they found whoever was trying to harm the shrew's family. The instructions were given to Fru Fru's bodyguards and Judy knew that she'd have to change her appearance to be incognito, since her plan included such a situation. She was quite well known and the mammal that was threatening her friend could recognize her.
Fru Fru took care of giving her a very different appearance, starting with contact lenses that changed her purple iris to black, then she gave some details to her face and put a wig on her like the hair that the shrew herself had. The outfit would be two pieces: A white shirt with thin blue horizontal stripes with jeans for comfort. Judy looked in the mirror and was amazed by the hard work they had done and the incredible result.
"With this, it's impossible for them to recognize me. It's impeccable!" Judy smiled, illuminated by that change of image.
"The best of the best for my little one's godmother!" Fru Fru said, proud of the style she had chosen. "I suppose you'll be ready, these clothes will let you move freely, and don't worry about the wig, it stays on even with sudden movements."
The bunned rubbed her paws together. "This way I can catch the enemy easily." The mere thought of doing her job was what gave her life. She was always hungry for action.
Once they had everything ready, they went to the bar where they planned the movements, and Fru Fru had been there more than once, even with friends, so she was able to discover every useful point for her escorts and Judy. The plan was ready.
Vol was assigned to patrol, he was assigned with Wolford to secure the city and try to maintain order. They were already getting used to working together, which reinforced their close friendship, as well as their ability to understand what the other would do in various situations. It'd help them to carry out raids with great effectiveness.
"In the end you listened to me in the best way, I told you that it would help you." Wolford commented, smiling with half-closed eyes. "The best of the best for my friends."
Vol smiled at him. "I appreciate it, I really needed it." But he raised his eyebrow. "But, do you mean that if I weren't your friend you wouldn't help me? How cruel."
"Maybe... or maybe not." As if he were a copy of Nick, the wolf imitated his most characteristic expression and, seeing him, Vol couldn't resist a laugh.
"Seriously, Nick and you didn't know each other before? You are too similar in some things."
"I have my own style, foxy, unique in the world. It's not comparable!" Almost feigning offense, the answer didn't wait.
Vol's laughter increased at his partner's words. "But you're not inimitable, so..."
"Hey, I'm exclusive!"
The jokes continued between them without losing sight of their work because, despite talking, their ears were able to pick up if there was a problem. Luckily, there was nothing that required their attention.
They were going to take a break when they saw a disabled mammal trying to go down some stairs to the subway since, unfortunately, that access wasn't adapted for them yet. The disabled person was an armadillo that used a cane, he had his left leg injured and was having trouble getting down. Vol and Wolford didn't hesitate, they put their laughter aside, looked at each other and nodded, running to help the poor mammal with reduced mobility.
"Excuse me, let us help you take the stairs." As he approached, and in the friendliest tone possible, Wolford was the one who decided to start talking to him. Vol stood at the armadillo's right side so he could lean on him.
