Another morning dawned in that apartment where the two most renowned police officers had been staying with a special guest for some time now. The decision to give him a roof is something they never regretted, since the gratitude of that strange vulpine was always present in different ways. Apart from all living together, they worked together. Thanks to the instructor's assessment and a little convincing from Judy, they got Vol to have patrols with the two of them, so he 'd feel more comfortable. Bogo accepted the little rabbit's proposal with some doubts, but she was able to convince him. She always had some trick up her sleeve.

The sensation of warmth, coming from the largest star in the system, began to cover the blue fox, making him wake up from his lethargy. He wanted to stay in bed longer, but now he couldn't close his eyes again. He remembered the trial and a slight feeling of nervousness appeared in his body, preventing him from continuing in the world of dreams.

"Bah, this is impossible." Vol murmured as he stood up and stretched. After the process, he put on his shirt for when his colleagues appeared, although only Judy entered, whom he saw as soon as he looked up.

"Good morning, Vol." The rabbit's smile didn't wait to give more warmth to the morning. "I hope you slept well."

"Yeah. It took me a little while, but I'm ready for the day." The fox scratched the back of his head. "Hasn't he woken up yet?"

"Him? Pfft, not at all. From the two of us, he always wakes up after me." Judy laughed, mocking her partner. "He has a hard time getting out of bed."

Vol simply giggled. "I can understand him. I guess we'll have breakfast until he comes, right?"

"Yes, so we can prepare earlier."

Without further delay, they both went to the kitchen to fill the place with a familiar and delicious aroma. Vol used to make breakfast by himself, but now he had an extra pair of paws to help him. Making decisions and asking questions about what he could do to make each part of the breakfast better. They worked in sync to prepare a succulent first meal of the day. The smell they were leaving from the preparation was slightly different than usual, now that they both did it together.

The light aroma sneaked into the room of the fox and the rabbit. There, Nick was sleeping peacefully with his mouth open, tongue out, and shirtless, like he usually did. The smell got into his nose and, as if he were hypnotized, he got up and walked, still with his eyes more closed than open, to the kitchen. Both companions turned around when they heard him and laughed.

"Hey, Nick, open your eyes!" Laughing, Judy called his attention.

"Uh... W-What?" Groggily, Nick responded, trying to take in what was around him. At last, he woke up and shook his head. "H-How did I end up here?"

"You were like a sleepwalker. You came because your body wanted to." Vol couldn't contain his laughter as he spoke, the whole situation looked comical to him.

"Oh... Well, I guess since I'm here, I'll have breakfast too." Nick shrugged and, without losing his smile, sat down at the table.

As Judy put the finishing touches, she brought some of the food. "I hope they turned out well." The toasts had a different touch, they had a jam that had not been put before. This time it was carrots, with a sweet touch to make it pleasant.

"Don't worry, I've tried jams and I'm telling you that your creation is great." Vol encouraged his co-worker and roommate. "I hope you like my new touch on coffee."

The blue fox presented his part of breakfast. It was a coffee that didn't look very different, but the taste was. The sensation when drinking it left a clear touch of cinnamon. When they had enough to notice the difference, the vulpine explained the small addition.
