It was already night and Nick and Judy finished their dinner and were already making their way back to the apartment. They were both full and walking at their usual pace, after all it was not too late and they were in no hurry. Of course, they started talking.

"I'm totally full... Everything was delicious." With pleasure, Judy commented.

"Admit it, if it weren't for me, you'd probably take any restaurant you don't know." Smiling in his way, Nick decided to tease the rabbit.

"I know how to make a living, thank you very much!" Judy replied.

Still not satisfied, Nick continued. "For certain moments and cases you need me to guide you."

"Keep believing that, sometimes you needed me."

"Me? It must have been some dream of yours."

Now it was the rabbit who decided to smile an evil smile. "I still remember you saying 'Oh, Carrots, this is impossible', also 'I'm stuck with this, I need help.' Or maybe..."

Nick stopped her. "Okay, okay, but only a couple of times, I didn't need more." Defeated, he sighed. "I have my resources too, you know?"

"Yeah, sure..." Then, Judy thought about it. "Maybe you only catch my attention because you love me and can't stand it when I don't talk to you." She still wanted to continue provoking the fox.

"Pfft. You're the one who can't stand spending time without me." He smiled widely again. "But what can be done, mutual feeling they call it."

"I knew it." Judy approached and they both looked into each other's eyes, stopping to walk for a moment. They stood with their eyes glued to each other, hugging each other... but it was shattered when Judy heard a voice.

"I find them everywhere... annoying..." She turned around and saw the same pig that couldn't stop talking about them at dinner, accompanied by a taruca who could have been his friend.

This time, the bunny had enough. "I'm done." Nick sighed deeply and, at the pace Judy was going, he followed behind her. The rabbit approached them both, already angry, to reproach them. "Any problem with us having the relationship the way we want?"

The pig showed his face for the first time that night and, without feeling intimidated, he responded. "A predator and prey can't be together like that, that's the problem."

That made Judy enraged. "Then it's your problem, not ours. If it bothers you, look away, we have the right to be together like you have the right to walk down the street."

"You may have the right, but it does not mean that it's something natural." The pig replied. "It has to be a relationship between the same species."

"Shut up and let's go." The taruca, without showing an ounce of happiness, spoke to his friend. "Stop messing around."

Nick went ahead of his partner to answer. "Y'know? Those things are usually said by those who aren't successful in love. They don't like to see others having a good time and they have to boycott that joy." He sighed, but with the intention of provoking the pig's reaction. "It's a shame to have that mentality, poor sadness of yours."

The pig frowned, Nick got it. "What nonsense you say! I have perfectly had girlfriends of the same species and I have been happy. Something I highly doubt you had, fox."

The vulpine already had his arsenal ready. "You spoke in the past tense, that means they broke up with you. Seeing what I see, it doesn't surprise me." He smiled widely. "And to your comment, I may not have had previous relationships, but the difference between you and me is that I don't care who each of us falls in love with. And that makes me a better mammal than someone with such low empathy, meatey." Internally, Judy put her paw on her face in embarrassment at such a pun. "Such a pity."
