Chapter 7: The Devil

Mina looks around and notices she's trapped in a dark room. The voice from before says loudly, "I'm coming for you." Soon, it becomes difficult to breathe. Mina starts gasping for air but she can't breathe nor move. Her mind starts to go blank.

She springs up awake in her bedroom. Mina looks around frantically as she wipes the beads of sweat on her forehead. Yoongi notices that she woke up and nudges the sleeping Chaeyoung. She wakes up dazed and whispers to Yoongi, "Do you mind leaving us two? You know, girl talk." He looks at her confused then says, "Ok?"

As Yoongi closes the door, Chaeyoung stands straight and looks at Mina blankly. Mina chuckles and says, "So spill it. What did you want to talk about?" Chaeyoung slowly approaches Mina and whispers in her ear, "I warned you. If you mess with my plans, your dreams won't be the only thing I invade. Think wisely, Myoui."

Chaeyoung falls back asleep on top of Mina as Yoongi enters the room. He looks at the two confused and asks, "What was that about?" Mina fakes a smile and says, "It's best, you won't know." Yoongi shrugs his shoulders and says, "Oh by the way, they found a replacement for Principal JYP." She raises her eyebrows and says, "Already?" He nods and says, "He sounds pretty qualified and rich so I'm not worried."

The next day...

Everyone is assembled together so the new principal can introduce himself. Jimin sits next to Mina as Jungkook joins him. Jungkook complains, "You never hang out with us anymore! Just because you got a girlfriend." Jimin says, "She's not-" Mina interrupts and says, "I'm not his girlfriend." Jimin somehow feels offended and Jungkook chuckles. Suddenly, their attention is called and the new principal introduces himself.

The building silences as the man steps up. "Hello everyone, I'm the new principal. You can address me as Principal YG. I have made some small changes such as our new Vice Principal, CL." Jungkook heart clenches as IU has resigned and Hoseok chuckles from the background. Hoseok whispers, "Why are their names acronyms? JYP, IU, YG, CL? Am I the only one noticing this?"

Momo hushes his mouth as YG says, "I hope we finish this school year strong and that no more incidents will happen. Thank you."

Everyone heads to their classes as Mina tries to remember if she met him before. Mina gets lost in her thoughts as she walks the halls and suddenly bumps into someone. She bows and quickly apologizes as everyone in the hall stares at her. The guy she bumped into was the new principal. Mina repeatedly bows and apologizes while he smiles. YG looks at her evilly and says, "People make mistakes."

After a creepy staring contest, Mina bows once again then heads to her class. In the middle of class, the voice pops up her head. "Myoui, I'm going to find you." As a hand touches her shoulder, she jumps in fear. Jimin backs off equally surprised at Mina. She looks at him embarrassed and says, "Sorry." He smiles back and says, "Want to hang out this afternoon?"

The voice in her head returns, "Myoui~ Where are you~" Mina tenses up which confuses Jimin even more so he turns shy. He says, "If you're busy, we don't have to..." The voice repeats, "I found you." Mina starts to look around frantically and only notices a few people. As her head turns and she makes eye contact with Jennie, Jennie starts to wave at her.

Mina waves back shyly as Jennie and Jaebeom approach her. Jimin notices the two coming and says, "Sup guys." The two ignore him and Jennie asks, "Mina, do you want to go shopping with me later?" Mina stays quiet and Jennie adds, "Jaebeom is coming too, he's just holding our stuff. Don't worry, you usually don't notice his presence."

Mina nods slightly as Jimin joins in, "Mind if I join?" Jennie nods and says, "Yeah, I kind of mind." He looks at her confused and asks, "What do you mean?" Jaebeom puts his hand on Jimin's shoulder and says, "She doesn't want you to be there."

Jimin looks at Mina concerned as she just flat out ignored his request and joined two other people in front of his face.

Jimin pouts as Mina continues to stay quiet. Jennie then says, "Wait for us after school." Those words start to playback in Jimin's head. He remembers about Jin. Jimin tries to ask the two if they have seen him around but he can't get the words out of his mouth. He ends up not mentioning Jin as the two walk away.

Odd.

The final bell rings and Mina waits outside the school gate like before. As a black van approaches, someone pulls her back covering her mouth to prevent her from yelling. Mina glances back to see Jimin with a very serious expression. Mina looks at him questionably but strangely, she trusted him.

The van disappears a few minutes later and Mina asks him, "What was that?" Jimin says quietly, "I think those same people took Jin." She looks at him shocked and says, "Took Jin?" He nods and says, "He's been missing for a few days and remember they told us his parents transferred him." Mina thinks for a little bit and says, "Wait! What about Jennie and Jaebeom?" Suddenly a text from her phone appears and it says, "Sorry Mina. Something came up so Jaebeom and I can't go. We'll hang out tomorrow. BTW, this is Jennie and I got your number from Momo. xoxo."

Mina sighs in relief and says, "I should head home." Jimin holds her wrist gently and says, "It's dangerous. Let me go with you." Her heart skips a beat as she turns flustered due to his masculinity.

She stutters, "O-ok." Jimin starts to follow Mina home and keeps his eyes peeled for anyone suspicious. Mina starts to take small glances as Jimin every now and then while acknowledging his handsomeness. Jimin then turns towards her and catches Mina staring. After a few seconds of eye contact, the two look away from each other. Mina then says, "My house. We're here."

Jimin feels saddened as he was supposed to talk to her the whole time but ended up getting distracted and the two never spoke a word. Mina says, "Thank for bringing me home." He smiles and says, "If anyone is bothering you, just let me know." She chuckles and says, "Why, you'll kiss them?" Jimin smiles proudly and says, "I'll kiss the shit out of them." He then blushes as the feeling of embarrassment fills. Mina then says, "Safe travels."

...

YG throws a chair across the room as he yells, "You didn't what?" Jennie looks down and says, "We didn't get-" She suddenly stops talking as YG yells, "I WASN'T TALKING TO YOU. Now, Jaebeom. Explain to me how you didn't get Myoui." Jaebeom says, "Jimin saved her. He's starting to grow suspicions as he noticed the disappearance of his friend."

YG rubs his eyebrows as Jennie asks, "Why can't you just control Jimin's mind? It worked with Jin." Suddenly, Jennie is forced to kneel and bow her head on the ground. YG says annoyed, "I don't remember asking you to talk. Plus, it doesn't work. He stole Dr. Myoui's ring so I can't get in his head."

Jaebeom asks, "What do we do?" YG says, "Wait, that Jimin boy is going to mess up and once he does. We take advantage of him. Understand?" Heo nods and YG exits the room. Jaebeom quickly goes to help Jennie. He embraces her in a hug as she cries.

Jennie says, "I feel so powerless." Jaebeom reassures her, "Don't worry, just a little bit more and we're free." She looks at him and says, "How are you so sure?" Jaebeom chuckles and says, "Would your brother ever lie to you? I promise we're both getting out of here, just bare with me. Okay?" She nods and says, "Okay."
