Chapter 12: Girlfriend? Bifriend?

The following day...

School ends undramatically as it was another day of lessons and talking. Jimin and Mina walk out together as they plan to go on a small date. Jimin asks Mina, "When are we going to tell our friends? I'm sure they won't mind." She looks at him and says, "I really never thought about it, we should just not say anything and see if they notice." He smiles back and says, "Sounds fun."

Suddenly, Chaeyoung runs by Mina and grabs her arm. She looks worried and sweaty. Chaeyoung says, "Mina, help me. Please. Let's go." Mina says, "B-but, Jimin and I-" Before she could say anything, Chaeyoung drags her away in a hurry. Jimin stands there confused as Yoongi walks up behind him. He turns to Yoongi and says, "What's wrong with Chaeyoung?"

Yoongi bites his lip and says, "Did she pass by here?" Jimin nods and says, "She took Mina away." Yoongi sighs as he rakes his hair back in frustration.

...

Mina sits on Chaeyoung's bed as the shorter walks around frantically. Mina asks, "What was so important that you had to drag me to your house?" Chaeyoung looks at her with worried eyes and says, "Promise me, this stays between us?" Mina nods and she says, "Yoongi told me he liked me."

Jimin reacts completely surprised as he sits on Yoongi's bed, "YOU LIKE CHAEYOUNG!?" Yoongi says embarrassed, "I thought I was obvious...." Jimin asks, "So, what did she say?"

Mina's eyes widened as she exclaims, "You told him, that you like girls?" Chaeyoung nods feeling guilty as Mina asks, "Well, do you?" The shorter nods and says, "Yeah but that's not the point. I like Yoongi too!" She looks at Chaeyoung completely shocked and says, "I never knew you were bisexual." Chaeyoung looks at her confused and says, "Did you think I was joking when I confessed my love to you a few years back?" She nods back as Chaeyoung blushes in embarrassment. Chaeyoung says, "Well, that's off topic. What do I do now?"

Jimin's jaw drop as he says, "C-chaeyoung likes girls?" Yoongi nods again as Jimin rakes his hair back. Jimin then says, "Do you think she likes Mina?" Yoongi then says, "Probably." Jimin then says, "But Mina doesn't like girls like that..." He tells Jimin, "You don't know that. She could have been hiding it this whole time like Chaeyoung."

Jimin tells him with no confidence, "No way..." Yoongi says, "Well, she did kiss Vice Principal IU and now that I think of it, she's really clingy to Chaeyoung." Before Jimin utters another word, he starts to think about sincerely. He says to himself, "I think she's into guys... She's into me... No way.... She did kiss Vice Principal IU and is really close to Chaeyoung..."

He goes home as the conversation of Yoongi replays in his head. Jimin reassures himself, "I'm 100% sure that Mina is straight."

The next day...

Jimin tries to approach Mina again so they can set up a date for the afternoon. As he approaches her locker, he hears her giggling. Jimin glances over and sees Mina back hugging Chaeyoung while whispering things in her ear. He feels uneasy and starts to approach the two. Jimin says, "Good morning."

Mina looks at him without breaking her connection with Chaeyoung, "Morning Chimchim." He asks, "So, do you want to join me for food after school?" Mina answers, "Umm, I don't see why not." Jimin claps his hands once and says, "Then it's a date?" She repeats, "It's a date."

Jimin smiles proudly and walks away from the two. Chaeyoung asks her, "Are you two dating or something?" Mina whispers very breathily in her ear, "Yeah, we're dating." Chaeyoung walks forward then starts squealing in excitement. She gives Mina a big hug as she exclaims, "I'm so happy for you!"

Meanwhile, Yoongi watches the two interact from a far as he feels more and more discouraged.

They soon eat lunch and Yoongi is dragged away from their usual table by Jimin. They sit awkwardly in the corner of the cafeteria as Yoongi says, "This was actually a good idea, it's so quiet here." Jimin smiles mischievously and says, "I'm glad you like it. It'll get even better."

Yoongi looks at him strangely and says, "You're scaring me." Suddenly, Mina and Chaeyoung join the table as Mina tells Chaeyoung, "You can open your eyes now." Chaeyoung is disappointed and says, "You said it was a good surprise." Mina smiles evilly and says, "It is a good surprise."

Chaeyoung looks at her terrified as Jimin speaks up, "Mina and I are going to.... We are going to make out. Over there. You two wait here! Don't leave! We'll kill you!" The two skip away while Mina giggles and says, "Are we really?" Jimin shrugs his shoulder and says, "I don't mind but I also want to watch this."

Yoongi and Chaeyoung sit across each other awkwardly as Yoongi stands and says, "I have to go." She grabs his wrist and says, "No, we have to... clear things up. Okay?" He sighs and sits down while fiddling his fingers. Chaeyoung says, "Look, I know it's awkward but-" He interrupts her, "I get it. We shouldn't be awkward and just be friends. I know you're into girls and I kind of confessed out of nowhere. Look, I don't mind at all-"

Chaeyoung interrupts him, "NO! LET ME FINISH!" He looks at her scared and nods as she continues, "I don't want us to be just friends. I know I said I was into girls but that's not a complete lie. I'm also into you." Yoongi's eyes widened as he stutters, "A-are you calling me a girl?"

Chaeyoung chuckles and says, "No stupid, I like boys and girls. Just so happens, that you are one of those." Yoongi then says, "So will you be my girlfriend? Or bifriend?" Chaeyoung tears up as she nods and they hear a collective cheers behind them. They turn to see their whole friend group staring them down and smiling like idiots.

Yoongi says embarrassed, "I hate you guys." Chaeyoung stays quiet as she hides her blushing face from her group. Jungkook cheers, "YOONGI HAS A GIRLFRIEND! YOONGI HAS A GIRLFRIEND! SUGA GOT SOME SUGAR! SUGA GOT SOME SUGAR! AGUST D ABOUT TO GIVE THE D!"

Namjoon slaps his face and says, "If you weren't so good at everything, I wonder how you would be like." Jimin fist pumps Mina as he says, "We're the best." Mina nods and says, "Yeah, we're awesome."
