Chapter 10: IU

Junho looks at Jieun confused and says, "You're her sister?" Jieun glares at him and says, "Unnie, you should've told me you were dating Junho." Yubin says, "Oh, do you two know each other?" Junho says, "It's complicated." Jieun snaps, "It's no complicated. I hate you. Or do I have to dumb that down?"

Yubin holds her hand and says, "Jieun, please." Frustrated, Jieun takes her hand back forcible and growls, "Junho, outside. Now." She stomps out the room as Junho sighs. He kisses Yubin on the forehead then meets with Jieun outside. Junho says, "Look, if this is about our rivalry. We can settle this like adults."

Jieun rubs her eyebrows and says, "You very well know what this is about. Your son-" Junho corrects, "Daughter." She says angrily, "Daughter. You know that Yubin's not going to survive after giving birth to her. Think about this Junho, she's going to die because of you." He says, "She knows, I told her. She agreed upon it after consideration." Jieun pushes him back, "She doesn't know what we know! You didn't even ask me? You're taking away my only family left. Did you not care how I felt? Being the Guardian of the Myoui Temple meant chastity and eternal solitude! If you were just going to throw away those vows, I should've been the guardian!"

Junho yells, "I FELL IN LOVE!" Jieun yells back, "IF YOU LOVED HER THEN YOU WOULD HAVE GIVEN AWAY YOUR POSITION BEFORE IMPREGNATING HER! YOU COULDN'T KEEP IT IN YOUR PANTS NOW SHE'S GOING TO DIE!" Suddenly, groaning is heard from the hospital room. Yubin yells, "Call the doctor! THE BABY!" Junho rushes to the doctor completely ignoring Jieun. 

March 24, 1997

The day Mina was born and Yubin passed away. That same day, Jieun vowed to get revenge on Junho and ruin his life and family but he wasn't blind. Junho casted a curse upon Jieun which disabled her powers and his life was the key.

Jimin stutters, "What does this have anything to do with Jin and I?" IU looks at him, "I was powerless for years. I created an organization under the facade of YGI. They were never strong enough to kill Dr. Myoui so I had them develop weapons. Two weapons."

He says, "Moon and Star Child." IU nods and says, "Your sole purpose was to exterminate the Myoui Clan. Which is why you should give up on Mina. You were created to ruin her life and that's exactly what you did. You killed her Father and got her under my control. All I need is for you to finish the job."

Jimin raises his head and says, "What?" Suddenly, Mina is thrown into the room completely restrained in thick ropes. IU says, "Kill her." Jimin shakes his head as tears form and says, "Over my dead body." IU chuckles and says, "You're smart. You know that we can't kill you, the least you can do is kiss her good bye."

They place Mina next to Jimin as IU explains, "See the effects of your kiss are wearing off." Jimin fights back, "Why would I?" IU chuckles again and says, "Or else Jin will die. Choose carefully, moon child." Mina starts to regain her conscience as she starts to writhe. 

IU glances at the restrained woman and walks closer to her. Mina's eyes flutter open as tears form in IU's eyes. She says, "You have her eyes." Mina stares at her with tears forming. IU wipes her eyes as she says, "See, you can feel my pain too. I want to end this, one of us have to go and I'm not leaving."

Before IU can continue, Mina connects their lips together as she moves her head slightly forward. Jimin's eyes widened as tears flow down both of the ladies' cheeks.

Mina notices that her restraints are gone, her wounds disappeared, and she's in a massive garden. She stands up and says, "Where am I?" Someone clears their throat and Mina turns to see a beautiful woman in a pure white dress and blue hair. The lady says, "You're in my mind. Beautiful isn't it?"

Mina nods as she turns and embraces the soothing feeling of the garden. IU guides her to a table and says, "While we're here, let's have some tea." Mina sits across her as IU says, "Your eyes remind me of her." Mina asks, "You knew my mother?"

The older chuckles and says, "Of course I did, she was my sister." Mina chokes on her tea and says, "So you're my aunt?" IU nods and Mina asks, "Then did you know my father?" IU chuckles once again and says, "Know? I loved you father. Yes, I wanted to torture him and watch him burn in hell but before that. I really loved him." Mina's eyes widened and says, "What?"

IU taps her temple and says, "You read my mind already right? You know the story with your mother. That's why it hurt me the most when I heard she was pregnant." Mina stutters, "Y-you loved my dad?" IU says, "I did at first. But, I had to move on when he started dating my sister. Ouch, right?" She then asks, "So are you going to kill me?" IU shrugs her shoulders and says, "You kissed me. Tell me what you want to do. You have Yubin's power of mind control so I have no choice on what I do next." Mina says, "Can we end this peacefully?" 

IU shakes her head and says, "No. It's either one of us die or we are stuck here for the rest of our lives." Mina asks, "I'll do it. I'll die." IU chuckles and says, "I see you're nothing like your father but... I'm not letting that happen. You're technically my family and I can't let you kill yourself." Mina says, "We have to find a way."

IU cups Mina's cheek and says, "You're just like Yubin. I'd love to see you grow up."  Mina stares her totally dumfounded and says, "I thought you wanted me dead?"

The older stares into the limitless garden and says, "Yeah, I did. But, realizations hit me hard. I'm acting on revenge for your father killing my sister. For killing my last piece of family I had, but in reality. You're part of my family and even though I hate recognizing it, your father was too. So I'm going to do the grown up thing and take responsibilities for my actions." Mina looks at her confused and says, "What do you mean?" 

IU says, "You're just like your father. Stupid." She holds out a sword and stabs herself in the heart as Mina yells, "YAH! ARE YOU CRAZY?" IU nods and says, "Hey, don't be stupid. I'll say hi to your parents."

Mina's eyes flutter open as Jimin continues to yell, "MINA! MINA! MINA! MINA! MINA!" She glares at him as he hugs her with tears flowing in his eyes. Jimin then asks, "Where did former Vice Principal IU go?" She looks around noticing that she's gone. He then asks, "Did you kiss her to death?" Mina chuckles at his wording and says, "Technically, yeah." 

He wipes his tears and hers then says, "Let's get out of here. We have to free the rest."
