Chapter 6: The Scandal

As Yoongi is taken to the school nurse, everyone moves to the cafeteria. As Mina and Jimin walk through the hall, several whispers could be heard.

"I told you Yoongi would win. Where's my 20 bucks?"

"Isn't that the guy who tried to kiss Jaebeom?"

"I don't blame him though."

"True" 

Jimin hides his face in embarrassment as a random person approaches Mina. "You know this loser?" Jimin glances at Mina and she shakes her head while saying, "Not at all, isn't this the guy who tried to kiss Jaebeom?" Jimin looks at her betrayed while the other person chuckles and says, "Yeah, what a weirdo." The person leaves and Jimin glares at Mina while she pouts cutely.

He says, "What was that?" She replies, "I just started my social life, I can't end it now because you tried to kiss Jaebeom in the middle of a fight." Jimin sighs and says, "You very well know why I tried to kiss him." Mina says, "Well, not everyone knows. Just walk it out, they'll forget by next week." Jimin sighs and says, "I'm ruined." She looks at him concerned and says, "Don't worry, I'll stick by your side. That's what friends are for, right?"

Jimin raises his head as Jungkook enters the cafeteria. He yells, "WATCH OUT IT'S JIMIN! HE'S GOING TO KISS YOU! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!" Jimin fumes in anger as he's definitely going to get Jungkook back. As everyone laughs at him, he tries to hold Mina's hand as she said she'll never leave his side. As he glances to the right, Mina is 10 feet away and mouths, "Sorry." 

After arriving to the table, Jimin continues to ignore Mina as she says, "Come on, Jimin. I was just joking." Chaeyoung and Yoongi arrive to the table. Chaeyoung asks, "Did something happen?" Jimin stays quiet while Mina whines, "He's mad because I pretended to not be his friend to avoid embarrassment." Chaeyoung raises an eyebrow and asks Jimin, "Do you want to bring Mina down with you?" He raises his voice, "She said we're in this together but leaves as soon as it gets tough. I'm not talking to her!" Mina whines and says, "I said I'm sorry!"

Chaeyoung sighs as Yoongi stays quiet. Jimin asks, "What's with him?" Chaeyoung says, "Nurse said he's over exhausted. He needs to rest, so I'm making sure he doesn't move a muscle." Mina continues to cling onto Jimin waiting for him to accept the apology. Suddenly, Jimin has a realization. He looks around the cafeteria and asks, "Did Jin not show up to school today?" Chaeyoung asks, "Oh yeah, I forgot to ask. Where is Jin? He got disqualified in the tournament because he didn't show up."

Yoongi speaks up, "I heard he transferred out. I think his parents signed him out." Jimin and Mina turn to him confused as Jimin asks, "His parents?" Yoongi replies, "I don't know. I just heard rumors that his parents talked to Principal JYP and that he transferred out." Jimin stands up and starts walking to the principal's office as Mina chases after him.

Mina says, "Where are you going?" He replies, "I just need to clear things up. This is suspicious." As the two approach JYP's office they hear a female voice scream, "GET OFF ME! HELP!" Jimin runs through the wall as Mina tries to kick the door open but quickly hurts her leg. Jimin opens it from the inside and says, "It was a pull." She pushes him aside as they run towards the voice.

They see a crying and terrified Jennie on the ground with the principal blankly staring at her. Jimin quickly runs to punch the principal's face as Mina walks towards Jennie. Suddenly, she hears a voice in her head, "Call the police and report the incident." Mina starts to look around as the voice sounds like it's coming from all directions. Jimin reprimands Principal JYP as Mina continues to look for the origin of the voice.

The voice in her head chuckles maniacally and says, "You can hear me, girl?" Mina brings out her phone trying to ignore the voice as it continues, "I thought I got rid of your family." Mina dials 911 and listens to the ringing. The voice on the other lane asks, "What's the emergency?" The voice repeats, "Wait for me, I'm coming." Mina stays quiet in fear as the voice warns her.

"Excuse me? Prank calling the emergency-" Jennie quickly grabs the phone and says, "Please come quickly, the principal just tried to sexually assault me." After giving the location, Jennie hangs up as the adults take the kids away. Mina quickly reads Principal JYP's mind as she starts to hear his thoughts.

What happened? When did I get here? 

Mina looks at him worried as she's escorted out with Jennie and Jimin. Jimin asks Jennie, "Are you ok?" Mina quickly reads her mind and listens to her thoughts.

I can't believe this is happening. I can't believe that happened. I want to go back home.

Mina starts to feel worried as both sides are completely innocent based on their thoughts. She starts to recall the voice running through her head. Jimin soon shakes her out of it and says, "Mina. Mina." She regains composure and glances at the two looking at her. 

Before Mina says anything, the temperature starts to rise. Jennie sighs and says, "I swear, if he comes here and throws a tantrum." Bursts of fire breaks open the door as Jaebeom slowly walks towards Principal JYP. The teachers try to stop him but can't get a hold of him as he's surrounded by flames.

Jaebeom stands in front of Principal JYP and growls, "You're going to regret ever touching my sister." He raises his fist and lands a heavy punch onto the principal, knocking him out. Jennie quickly runs to hold him back as she starts to cool him down. Jennie reassures him, "The law will deal with him. You know how those prisoners deal with pedophiles getting arrested. He's basically dead so please stop." 

Jaebeom cools down as he inhales and exhales. He glances at Jennie and says, "Are you ok?" She nods as he embraces her in a hug. Jimin rakes his hair back still not believing anything that just happened.

As they return to their final class, an announcement is made on the PA. Vice Principal IU says, "With recent developments, I will be acting as the temporary principal of the school. We are quickly looking for a replacement and formal apologies will be sent to several parents. We will also hold a parent meeting regarding the safety of our students."

Jungkook fanboys, "Wow, her voice is beautiful." Hoseok shoves his arm and says, "She's probably married, silly." Jungkook replies, "No she isn't. She recently broke up with her boyfriend. You think I have a chance?" Hoseok looks at him weirdly and says, "You're a stalker." 

The lesson begins but Mina doesn't pay attention. Her mind starts to think of that voice again. What did it mean when he said he's coming? 

Jimin starts to stare at Mina because she was acting strange earlier. Was she traumatized? 

Suddenly, blood starts to flow out of Mina's nose but she doesn't notice it. Jimin says quietly, "Mina, your nose-" She suddenly faints on her desk as Jimin yells, "Mina?!"
