Chapter 18: Fear

Mina enters the house feeling uneasy as Jimin is very uneasy. Why did she just kiss Bambam? It's not like he has some secret power that makes people kiss him. Why is she lying about it? She can just tell me? Is this some sort of affair or something?

Mina notices that he's uneasy and hesitates on reading his mind. But she does it anyway, Jimin is quick to notice as he turns his head towards Mina. She puts her hands up and says, "Jimin.... It's not what it looks like. I really can explain." Jimin sits on her couch and pats the empty space next to him. He says, "I'll listen, I promise."

Mina says, "I got lost and ended up somewhere sketchy. I ran into Bambam and he insisted on bringing me home but I kept declining. I really did but... I was lost and there was no else willing to help me so after I read his mind, he dropped me home. Safely." Jimin then asks, "Why'd you kiss him?" She's at a lost of words because she really didn't know why. Mina stays quiet and he asks again, "Mina, why did you kiss him? Do you like him?"

She blows up, "I DON'T KNOW! I kept asking myself why I did that after I did it. I just did it, my body did it on its own. I really don't know." Jimin places his hand on her shoulder as he makes eye contact and asks, "Mina, do you like Bambam?" She stutters, "I-I... I don't know. What I do know is, I love you. Jimin, help me. Please, I'm so confused." Jimin sighs and says, "I'll help you but you have to promise me one thing. Never speak to Bambam ever again, he's dangerous. Whenever you speak to someone, read their mind. If you can't see what's in their head, leave or call me. No more secrets. Listen, I got you into this mess so I'm willing to be considerate and help you out. I just need your cooperation, okay?"

Mina's eyes start tearing up as she cries, "I'm sorry... Jimin, I'm really sorry." He hugs her as the tears slowly falls and he says, "I'm sorry too." She says quietly, "Please, never leave." Jimin tightens the hug and says, "The day I leave you is the day I die and even then, I'll still be in your heart." She chuckles in between her tears as she says, "Cheesy."

The next day...

Jin and Jimin meets once again. After Jimin explains the incident, Jin looks at him questionably and says, "But, why?" He replies, "I really think they're punishing us through recruiting Mina or something involving her. I don't like it but she already told me that she'll avoid Bambam and Lisa from now on."

Jin chuckles and says, "Does that really matter though? If they are set on recruiting Mina, then they'll keep trying and trying until they get her. You know what the Boss is like." He sighs and says, "Just help me out here, if you ever see anything fishy. Call me." Jin nods and says, "Sure."

Jimin then leaves Jin and approaches Mina. She stares at him and he feels the tingly sensation both in his brain and in his heart. He says, "Good job." She smiles proudly and taps her temple while saying, "See, you can trust me." He pecks her forehead and says, "Of course I can. Now get to class, we don't want to be late."

As another uneventful day unrolls, Mina starts to head home with Jimin. On their way home, Jimin finds the nearest bathroom and excuses himself for a bit. He looks at her concerned and says, "Want to come with me?" She blushes and smacks his face saying, "Pervert." Jimin blushes but raises his voice back, "I'M JUST WORRIED! I CAN'T SEE YOU FROM INSIDE THE BATHROOM!" Mina pushes him in and says, "Just make it quick."

She sighs as she feels an unsettling feeling behind her. Mina turns quickly and rolls her eyes saying, "Leave me alone." Bambam smirks and says, "Why beautiful, I think I like you?" She scoffs as he says, "Come with me, I'm fascinated by your whole existence." She chuckles and says, "What a pick up line, I have a boyfriend and he's about to be here any second now. So please leave."

Bambam places his hand under her chin and moves her head so they make eye contact. His eyes shine mint green once again as Mina falls for his trance. Jimin exits the bathroom as he notices Bambam holding Mina's chin. Bambam goes in for another kiss as Jimin yells, "GET AWAY FROM HER!"

Bambam releases her chin as he turns his head to Jimin. Mina continues to stare blankly at him as Jimin puts her behind him. He says, "Bam, I swear to god Jisoo. Leave Mina alone, keep the bad blood between us two. You really don't need to involve her." Bambam chuckles and says, "It's not my choice. I really don't want to drag more people into our mess of a family but you made me do this. Ever since you left your family behind."

Jimin curses, "I'm not part of your so called family." Bambam raises an eyebrow and says, "Keep dreaming Jimin. You're one of us. Just wait till Mina finds out what you've done. Still think she'd stay by your side? The day she leaves is the day I take her from you. Mark my words."

He disappears into the shadows again as Mina regains her consciousness. She looks around confused then notices Jimin is done using the bathroom. The scene replays in her mind as she holds her mouth and gasps. She says, "Jimin... I didn't do it on purpose. Believe me." He replies, "I believe you."

Mina looks at him shocked as Jimin says, "Let's go home." She follows without questioning him as she places her full trust in Jimin. They end up home as Jimin says, "Let me know when you're sleeping, I can watch over you." She says, "That's creepy. Why don't you just.... sleep beside me?" Jimin nods and says, "You said it. There's not take backs."

She chuckles and says, "I'm going to shower first, can you heat up some leftovers in the fridge." He nods as Mina makes her way to the bathroom. She strips her clothes and turns on the water. After feeling the warm water drip down her body, Mina starts to feel more relaxed. A voice behind her says, "You think you're safe from us?"

She turns around shocked as she tries to read the voice's mind. Mina can't hear a thing so she mumbles, "Lisa..." Lisa chuckles and says, "Bingo!" She says quietly, "Why are you here?" Lisa says, "Why so quiet? I want to hear you scream in fear, so Jimin can walk in here and see what I'll do to you."

Mina stutters, "W-what did Jimin ever do to you?" Lisa chuckles and says, "He abandoned his family and pretended he was never one of us. But he can't erase his past and once you know about it, you're leaving him."

A knock on the door causes Mina to jump as Jimin says, "Mina? Are you ok? Is someone in there with you?" Mina says out loud, "No! Just singing to myself!" He then says, "Ok, the food is ready when you're done." Mina replies, "Okay!" Lisa whispers into Mina's ear, "I'll be watching."
