Chapter 16: Past

Yoongi was transferred to a hospital as his injuries were severe. As class ends, Mina and the rest of their team visit Yoongi. To no one's surprise, Chaeyoung is already there speaking with the now awake Yoongi.

As he notices everyone enter the room, he smiles awkwardly and says, "Sorry I lost." Jaebeom says, "Don't worry, it's fine. Really, don't beat yourself just because we lost." Jennie nods and says, "I'm sorry too, I really wasn't prepared." Mina bites her lip and says, "I'm sorry too, I couldn't warn Jennie because..."

Jin raises an eyebrow, "Because???" Mina starts to blush as she remembered she hasn't told anyone about her relationship with Jimin yet. Yoongi coughs as Chaeyoung suddenly scolds him, "YAH! I TOLD YOU NOT TO MOVE A MUSCLE! LET ME DO EVERYTHING!"

She helps him drink a glass of water as he pucker his lips gesturing for a kiss. Chaeyoung pecks his lips as he smiles cheekily. Jin says, "You're really enjoying this, aren't you?" He smiles and says, "I should've broken my arms long time ago."

The doctor soon enters the room and requests that everyone leave. Chaeyoung stays while the rest of their team leaves. Jennie asks Jaebeom, "Where do you want to go for dinner?"

The doctor closes the curtains and makes sure that the room is locked. He looks at Chaeyoung and says, "Do you know? About..." She understands what he's pointing out and nods, "Yeah, I'm the only one who knows." The doctor turns to Yoongi and asks, "Is this true?"

He bites his lips and lies, "Yeah, only her." The doctor then clears his throat, "This isn't the first time this happened but last time, it was a different alien. Lab results came in and you should recover in a matter of weeks. Shattered bones usually take a few years to recover but since you have a... unique anatomy. You are fine. Your girlfriend here requested to keep everything under your name anonymous so we obliged. She handed over some paperwork which legally binds us to shut up, I have to say. I'm impressed."

Yoongi looks at her proudly and says, "She always has my back." Chaeyoung blushes and says, "And for the hospital bill?" The doctor says, "Paid under the name Kim Namjoon. He insisted so we took the payment. Fortunately, you don't need any treatment and all can you do is rest."

The doctor prescribes pain killers then walks out of the room. Mina enters the room completely shocked as Yoongi sighs. Chaeyoung stutters, "D-did you here all of that?" Mina nods completely speechless. A knock on the door is heard as Jimin enters with a bouquet of flowers. Yoongi says flattered, "Aww, you didn't have to."

Jimin looks at him and says, "Sorry Yoongi, these are for Mina." Chaeyoung glances at the flowers and notices the giant sorry card. Yoongi pouts and says, "Traitor."

Mina continues to ignore him as Chaeyoung asks the couple, "Is this about the Jennie kissing thing?" The two stay quiet as Jimin looks at Mina worriedly. She smiles at Chaeyoung and Yoongi then says, "I'll be heading home now. I'll be back tomorrow, get well Yoongi."

Jimin then says, "Let me take you home!" Mina ignores him and walks out. Jimin chases after her as Yoongi looks at him offended. He says, "He only came here for Mina, I'm jealous." Chaeyoung helps him feel better, "At least, I'm here."

Jimin catches up to Mina and places his hand on her shoulder. They're blocks away from the hospital as Jimin catches his breath before speaking. He says, "It was just a competition... There were no feelings behind it. I swear!" Mina furrows her eyebrows as she says, "That's not the point! So many people kept saying you two were the hottest couple and that you'd looked perfect together!" He says, "Come on, you can't believe them. I love you and only you."

Mina raises an eyebrow and says, "I never heard you deny anything. You didn't clear up the misunderstanding!" He hugs her and says, "I'll do that if you want me to." Mina pushes him away and says, "NO! You should've done it cuz you wanted to! WHY DO I HAVE TO REMIND YOU THAT YOU'RE MINE AND I'M YOURS! It looks like you really don't mind if you started something with her. Mr. Top 5."

Jimin smirks and says, "Are you jealous?" Mina fumes in anger and slaps his arm as she says, "WHAT!? OF COURSE, I'M JEALOUS! AND YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO FLIRT WHILE NOT PUTTING ANY EFFORT IN CLEARING UP RUMORS WITH YOU AND JENNIE!"

Jimin pulls her closer as she says, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? TALK TO-" He connects their lips together for a few seconds and breaks. He says, "Shh, I'm really sorry I am. I've been worrying about asking for your forgiveness that I never thought about clearing up the misunderstanding. I'm sorry." Mina blushes as she says, "You better be sorry."

"Wow, Park Jimin. You got a beautiful girlfriend there."

He tenses up as he hears a familiar voice. Jimin breaks away from the hug and moves Mina behind him. He says, "Aren't you supposed to be working in Thailand?" The skinny man says, "I've been... relocated. I heard you left the organization along with Jin. Boss isn't too happy about it, now I'm here doing what's supposed to be your work. You can say, I'm quite pissed."

Mina feels hands on her shoulder as she shrieks in surprise. A female voice says, "Wow Jimin, you really hit the jackpot. She's gorgeous." Mina whispers to Jimin, "I can't read her mind." The female voice says, "Whoa, she can read minds. Boss would love to meet you." Jimin says, "Leave us alone. We have no business with you and your gang."

Mina stutters, "J-jimin, you know them?" He says, "Former, coworkers." The skinny man says, "Wow, I'm hurt. We are more than just coworkers, we trusted each other with our lives. Killing anyone who threatened the career we worked on. Jimin, we're family." Jimin says, "He's Bambam. Has the ability to hide in the shadows while the girl behind us is Lisa. They're related and Jin and I use to work with them."

Mina asks, "Work? What kind of work?" Lisa whispers in her ear, "Work? Think of the most dangerous and most illegal job ever. That's our work. And your boyfriend here, abandoned us even after Boss treated him like a son and raised him from the streets." Jimin warns them, "Stop. Leave us alone, I will not hesitate to call the cops." Bambam chuckles and says, "You used to despise the popo, look at you now. Weak and soft. Keep a keen eye Jiminie, we're staying in Korea for a while. And as for beautiful over there."

Jimin tries to block her from Bambam's sight but Lisa suddenly pulls the two apart. Mina shrieks again in fear as Bambam eyes her. He winks and says, "We'll be meeting again, love."

The two disappear as Jimin runs straight to Mina. He says sternly, "I'm walking you home. Let me sleepover too, please." Mina still recovering from the load of information her mind just retrieved says, "How do you know those... people?" Jimin says, "Mina, there's a part of my past that I regret but I can't get rid of. So trust me when I say, I'll deal with it. Okay?" Mina nods slightly as he continues, "Let me call Jin first, then we can head home. Stick near me, ok?"
