"Cheesy eighties novels," Dean muttered. Cas walked up to him. The smell of books were invigorating. He came here alot, knew his way around the library perfectly. He was going to come here for his spare anyways.
"They're actually pretty good," Castiel mumbled.
Dean raised his eyebrows in disbelief and held up a cheesy book with a woman in a reporter's outfit with big hair and cursive lettering reading, 'Mr. Perfect, by Lynn Jones.'
Castiel chuckled. "That was actually one of my favorites."
"Really," Dean says flatly.
"Yeah!" Cas says, taking the book from Dean's grip. He flipped through the pages. "It was about a woman trying to pursue her career, but she didn't have anough money, so the banker, mr. perfect, generously donated money. Want to know the plot twist?"
Dean sighed, clearly not amused with the eighties novels. "Why not."
"It was never the bank's money. The bank would never supply the money. He was the one donating the money all along."
"Well, that's a load of crap," Dean scoffs.
Cas was a bit offended. "Why do you say that?"
Dean leans against the book shelf. "First of all, that's saying somebody needs money to be happy. Second, it's like he's buying her love."
Cas shook his head. "The real message was saying that the banker was putting all his trust into making somebody's dream come true. And it was the money that was buying her education, because she was homeless. It was her that fell in love anyway."
Dean stands back up. "That's true, but what if the banker never gave her the money for the education, would the woman still love the man?"
Castiel never thought of that question before. He never really thought of that at all, actually. He was rendered speechless. Dean didn't have a response to that, so he left, while Cas was rethinking his favorite book
Was mr. perfect so perfect then, after all?
