Steven and the Crystal Gems with Spinel were picking out for the perfect tree to decorate. I shouldn't be too big as the one in Empire City or one that is too small. "How about this one, or this one, what about that one over there?" Spinel was stretching and hopping around the Christmas tree lot.
"Take it easy now. We just need the right tree so we can decorate it for Santa to put presents under for all of us." Steven said holding at her free hand making sure she doesn't run off to heaven knows where.
Pearl was looking for the ideal tree making sure to see if it is truly perfect to bring back home.
Garnet spots a fairly large Douglas Fir tree. "How about this one?" She said to the pale gem.
"Ooh I like that tree." Spinel said looking at the Christmas tree picked by Garnet.
Amethyst sniffs at the tree taking in the pine scent. "Yep, it smells like our Christmas tree."
Pearl looks at them and does her own assessment of the tree to see if it is truly the perfect Christmas tree. "It's the right size, has a pleasing smell and ideal for presents to be placed under.
With Pearl's "seal of approval" they buy the tree getting it tied and ready for the drive back to the gem temple after stopping by a store for Christmas tree decorations. Amethyst got enough garland and tinsel to last a few Christmases.
"Okay then let's get decorating." Steven said holding some of the decorations when they got the Christmas tree inside the temple. The Crystal Gems got to decorating with the addition of a string of twinkling multicolored lights, placing lovely glass ornaments and lots of tinsel including a string of popcorn which is just empty thanks to Amethyst eating the popcorn of it.
Spinel was putting some candy canes on the branches and gives one to Steven to have as a holiday treat.
"If you suck on either end long enough it gets all sharp and pointy." Said the pink pigtailed gem.
They all take a step back to admire how the now decorated tree looks. "Do you think Santa would like it?" Spinel asks Garnet. "Maybe he will once we get the star on top." She held at a glittery gold tree topper.
"Spinel, since this is your first Christmas, how would like to put the star on top?" Steven asks her. She stretches her arm up to the top of the tree placing the star on top. "Like that?"
"Almost," Pearl gets to a footstool to straighten up the gold star, "Now it's perfect."
