The little Merman: Ariel's Story

Chapter Nine

The ocean was so fun and warm even though it's cool on the skin. It was home to me. This town was so full of lively and happy people. Even the females too but I wasn't interested ever since I met Red. Thinking about him made me to touch the place he bit me yesterday.

It healed quickly and left a design which he also has. I was about to continue my job when Peter gave me a container.

"Lord Ariel said I should give you this." Peter told me and then I looked around for Ariel.

"Left when you were talking to the ladies. He didn't look so good and said he was going home to rest." Peter informed before I thanked him.

I sat down at a corner and then opened it to see salad and soft meals. I laughed since he didn't like flesh at all even though he ate once it once in a while if it wasn't fish. I smiled and then ate before I continued then rest of the activities.

When I got back, I knew Ariel was in his room. I knocked before I opened the door to see he was sleeping. I closed the door before I sat down on the bed close to him and then I touched his face.

His eyes looked swollen and tired like he had been crying for hours. I also noticed that he had that music box by his side on the bed. I took it away and then dropped it on the nightstand before I covered him.

I was about to leave to the room when I felt a hand holding me back.

"Zeke please don't go. Don't leave me." He begged with a sad look on a his face.

I was confused and then I sat by his side and then he sat up and then he hugged me. He clinged onto me tightly as he closed his eyes tightly while hugging me.

"Tell me what's wrong." I requested and then he held on.

"I don't like how you look at others especially at that ginger hair. Your my mate and only mine so please don't leave me." He confessed and then I realized what he meant.

"Red, I'll never leave you. No matter who I smile at, know that I will always come home to you. Your the first in my mind day and night. The first face I see in the morning and the last when I sleep. So I'm promising you that I'll never you even when we both grow old that is if merfolks grow old." I said and then he laughed.

"We do silly just not easily." He teased me with a smile and then I felt like it was right and then I kissed him.

He kissed me back and then I felt a spark with the taste of Red on my lips. He tasted like fresh fruits and smelt like the oceans. He was so perfect to me. He was mine and I was his and I was glad he finally he accepted it.

It had been two months since I lived with Red and things have been going okay. It was kinda nice working by the sea especially after knowing that Red works as an official but lives so simple. I spent my day by the sea and then nights with Red.

We usually went swimming at night and Red always showed me his form. He was beautiful with a green tail that seemed to glow and his voice was very beautiful even though he was so shy to sing whenever I teased him.

We now slept together even though we didn't have sex since he said he wasn't ready and I understood but I didn't mind. I was happy when he told me about his former mate, Uriel. He usually said that we were carbon copies but our personalities were different.

Uriel was prim and proper and I was was crude and mischievous but the things we had in common was our devious minds and our love for Red. I felt happy with Red but I felt something unexpected was going to happen and in a way I starting to worry but I won't let it get me down.

I got up very early to see Red wasn't by my side. I got up quickly when I heard when I heard puking noises from the bathroom. I entered to see Red on his knees puking into a bucket before I got him a cup of water quickly and then he took it.

"Are you okay?" I asked and then he nodded as he rinsed his mouth. "Should I get a doctor?"

"No, it's okay. Maybe I ate something bad." He assured me but he didn't look okay.

I touched his forehead and his head was slightly was hot. He was having a slightly fever and then he removed my hand from his head and then he kissed it.

"I'm okay. If I rest then I'll get better." He assured me before I nodded and then I helped him to the bed.

"I'm not going to work. I'll stay and take care of you." I informed him but he shook his head.

"I'm not as fragile as I look. Just prepare meals and leave, if I'm not feeling good then I'll go to the doctor." He informed me before I sighed and agreed.

"If you feel even the slightest pain then go and meet the doctor. I'll be back early so take care." I informed him before he nodded.

We both ate together before I left for work feeling a bit unsure leaving Red alone but if he said he was okay then I have to believe him.
