I'm right here in the venue of the wedding. Beach wedding. This was our dream. Now its happening. The guests are arriving, congratulating her.
She's so beautiful. In that white gown, with that smile on her face.
"Fabio. Beautiful, isn't she?" the man beside me said
"Super" I agreed
"I never saw her that happy again for a long time" he said
"Yeah me too"
It's true. Its been years since I saw her very happy.
And I know. I am the reason why she wasn't happy for a long time. I gave her a hard time.
Flashback...
"Camila!!!!" I shouted
She stopped in her tracks and looked at me.
"What?" she said
I went closer to her and held her hand.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry for everything, I'm sorry for hurting you, I was drunk okay?" I explained
She slapped me hard in the face.
"Being drunk is not an acceptable reason Fabio! The moment you started flirting with her, the moment you let her touch you, that is considered as cheating!" she said
"I know! Just please, forgive me, I wont do it again, please come back" I begged
"You know what? I want to kill you right now. I want to hurt you but I can't! I can't because I love you! But I made my decision Fabio, let's have some space" she said
From there, she ran away from me. The rain pouring. My tears following the rain's drop. I let her go. I guess she was right, we needed space.
It's been two weeks since we cooled off. I miss her already. I didn't bother calling her because I think she'll be more mad.
I went outside and decided to get coffee. There's a close coffee shop here.
When I went inside, I saw her. She was smiling. I was about to go near her but someone sat beside her. I was shocked.
It was my bestfriend. Vito. She's with him. Kasama niya yung bestfriend ko.
Nakita niya ako. Her smile vanished. I guess Vito noticed that because he looked at me also. I saw her stand and went close to me.
"We need to talk" she said
We went outside. A place very far from the shop.
"Look Camila, I'm sorry ok? Have you changed your mind? Can we go back before?" I asked
I was quietly hoping na gusto niya ulit maging kami. I missed her laugh, her hugs, her evrything.
She sighed and then said,
"I'm sorry Fabio but I made my choice" she said
"We're done" she plainly said
For one last time, she kissed my cheeks. She then looked back and walked towards the shop. And slowly, my world stopped.
I watched her go. Tears escaping my eyes. Hinayaan ko siyang tumakbo.
I guess that was our last meeting.
End of Flashback...
Regrets...that's all I have been thinking the next few years without her. And now, she's happy. Masaya na siya.
Akala ko yun na yung last meeting namin, turns out, hindi pala.
"It's nice to see you again bro" sabi ng katabi ko
"Likewise" sabi ko
"Come on, wag ka nang KJ sakin, aren't you proud of me?" he asked
"Of course I'm proud of Vito, you're marrying the girl of your dreams" I faked a smile
Yes. This isn't my wedding.
Its Camila and Vito's wedding. We meet again for just their wedding. I should have not come here but Vito forced me.
"Thank you nga pala" he said
"Why?" takang tanong ko
"For letting Camila go" he seriously said
"Well, that's my job, letting important things go" I said
I hate confrontations like this.
"I have to go the CR for a while" I said just to escape this conversation
"Ok...bilisan mo, malapit na yung ceremony" he said
Tumango lang ako at lumabas. I just wanted fresh air. When I sat down in one of the benches, I saw a couple. Riding a bike. The girl hugging the boy tightly cause she's afraid to fall.
I smiled. Memories. The person leaves but the memories stay.
"Reminiscing?" she asked
"Yes. I wondered what would our lives be when we didn't break up" I said
She looked at me. I looked at her.
I missed her so much. Its been a long time.
"Well, everything happens for a reason Fabio. Maybe pinagtagpo lang tayo pero 'di itinadhana" she said
Alam ko naman yun. Sana hindi mo nalang ipinamukha.
She hugged me. I missed this.
"Someday, you'll find someone who will love you whole-heartedly just like the love you gave me" she said
"I hope so. I missed you" I said
"I missed you too. Anyways, I need to go, the ceremony is about to start" she said
And just like that, I watched her go, again.
She was already preparing her grand entrance inside. I decided to follow her.
I was in the middle of the road when I heared a sound from my side. A horn. I didn't bother to run. I stayed.
I guess this is my last goodbye. I guess this is it. US AFTER. This was us after. Watching her marrying the man of her dreams which is not me.
I was waiting for the impact. Until someone shouted.
"FABIO!!! UMALIS KA DYAN" Camila shouted.
I looked at her and smiled.
"I LOVE YOU CAMILA! ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT, GOODBYE" I said
A tear escaped my eye before the truck hit me.
This is it. Goodbye Camila. I love you. Be happy. That's all I ask. I'll wait for you up here. I love you.
