- Lam's POV -
All the meals are scrumptious! I've never had food this good in my entire life! I'm pretty sure everyone can now guess where I'm from because of how fast I shovel the food into my mouth. Caldon laughs when he sees the look on my face upon gazing at the dessert. "What is this sugary... paste?" I ask Caldon inbetween mouthfuls. "It's called 'frosting'. They use it to balance out the dryness of the cake." "It is good!" I exclaim. "Glad you think so." Says an unfamiliar voice. I look up and see it belongs to a person who matches the preimer's descriptions of Carmadon. He confirms my suspicion with an introduction. "I must aplogize. I am getting old and memories slip by me. Your name is...?" "Lam." I answer. "L for short."
- Caldon's POV -
The next morning, I wake up with my feet on my pillow. I must have turned one-hundred-and-eighty degrees in my sleep! I yawn and stretch my arms. I'm still sore from the hike. "Good morning!" I yell to L, assuming she is already awake. There is no reply. She must be sleeping still.
I shower in my bathroom, and still there is no sound from L. Maybe she is already at breakfast? No, she would've woken me by showering. Maybe she stayed up late last night thinking and is very tired? But she'll miss breakfast if she doesn't wake up soon. I'll just go remind her.
I brush my teeth with my toothbrush. I've had it since I was 8. It has my name carved into the steel, a reminder of the life I used to live. I sigh. "L? You awake yet?" Still no response. "All right, I'm coming for you!" I say, teasing. I open her door, reading to wake her, but she's not there.
