"Hey, kid. I brought some dinner." Mister Stark walked in holding up a bag of Chinese food. I nodded, head heavy and stomach growing in protest to its lack of food.

He handed me two containers and let me go to town.

"What did Aunt May say?" I mumbled through mouthfulls as he picked at his own thing of kung pow chicken.

"She said she was glad you're okay, and you're free to stay as long as you want." I nodded, getting a glimpse of Rachel's body and suddenly losing my appetite.

"And her mom?" He shook his head. We had attempted to get in contact with her for hours with no response.

"I'm sure she's just caught up in work." He sighed, setting his practically untouched container on the ground. "Bruce says she's going to be find kid. All of the antibodies were removed. Sure she'll be weak, may not wake up for days, but she'll live." I nodded, head drawn down to my clasped hands. He clapped me on the back of the shoulders, standing and hating to the doorway. "If you need anything…" he whispered. Turning and leaving us alone.

"Hey Rachel.. no sorry, Carmine. Your real name is Carmine isn't it.. I'm sorry so so sorry about all of this. I feel like it's my fault for not protecting you, for getting mad, letting my stupid emotions over come you and your needs. Now look at you…" I placed my hand over her own that lay still in the hospital like bed.

"But the point is I don't want this to happen, ever again. As soon as you wake up I will never leave your side. I will protect you with everything I have. Because you really understand me. You are perfect in every way. Because that's just who you are. And I don't know if you feel the same way Rae- no Carmine. But I love you."

"Just, promise me you'll wake up and you'll fight through the pain and you'll become the woman I fell for all over again. I don't care what you look like or what your name is. You're still the most caring strong intelligent magnificent girl I've ever met. And I would be lucky to have you."

I tightened my fingers around hers. "Oh so lucky."

"In this case I think I'm the lucky one.." my eyes grew wide as I looked down at her. "Well don't get too excited there Parker, I only almost died."

In an instant my arms were wrapped around her. Our lips collided, hers cold but soft against mine. It was so pure, fear embodied in the motion.

"Okay, okay, enthusiasm seen now." She whispered, hand planted squarely on my chest. She gave me a soft push, so I obliged knowing what she had been through. "So. Who told you?" She whispered, eyes closed as I looked at her. She was so frail, so different from just a few days before.

"Tony Stark." Her eyebrows raised, eyes still closed.

"Makes sense. Tattle tale." I laughed slightly her lips holding a small grin. "But in all seriousness Pete. We need to talk."

"Anything."
