The rain wasn't stopping any time soon, but I didn't mind. Part of me actually wanted to play in it!

"I've got nothing better to do." I say aloud to myself.

I walk out of my room and am greeted by one of the chubby stray cats mom takes in. I bend down and pet the animal lightly on its head as it purrs at the sudden burst of attention. I go to the pole in front of my door, just across the platform that made up the floor of the second level of the house. I hold onto it with one hand and use my legs to balance myself as I slide down, landing gracefully on the awaiting hardwood below. I leave the solid metal pole and walk into the kitchen behind it. I stop in front of the fridge.

I open a compartment next to the fridge and pull out a piece of paper and a pen. I set the paper on the counter above the drawer and start writing a small note.

Mom, Dad

I'm headed out for a bit. I'll be back soon.

Yuya

I finish writing and put it under a red, heart shaped magnet on the fridge. I return my attention back to the pen on the counter. I pick it up and slid it back into the drawer I had retrieved it from. Mom and Dad are out, so they might not even see this. I doubt I'll be out for long, but just in case.

I walk to the door and put on my shoes. Then, I open the door and walk into the pouring rain.

After about fifteen minutes of wandering aimlessly, I end up at the park entrance. I walk through and find one of the many benches that littered the sides of the cobblestone walkway. I go to it and sit down on the bench that was soaked in the seemingly never-ending tears of the clouds above. There may not be any kids to entertain right now, but it's raining, so there really isn't a question as to 'why'. But that's okay. I didn't come here to play with kids, I just wanted to play in the rain; though, I'm pretty sure that this doesn't exactly count as playing in the rain. I'm not doing anything but sitting. I look up at the sky and let the rain fall onto my face. I close my eyes and enjoy the sensation the tiny droplets gave off as they danced along my cheeks.

I don't know how long I sat there. An hour? Two? Not that I truly care at the moment. This could last forever, and I would still sit there and enjoy it.
