I sat silently in my chair. Sora sat in a similar chair across the table from me. Between us, a small white table with two shining silver platter, covered by slick metal shells sat untouched.
"So, any reason you can think of, that would give any of us a hint to what's going on?" Sora asked, reaching over and tapping the metal shell in front of him.
Sora lifted the lid slightly, looked under, and shrugged, placing it back in its original position. It seems it wasn't something sweet.
"No not really, I mean... earlier, I had a meeting with Reiji and ended up running off...I got upset because he said that Z-ARC might be alive... the thought really does frighten me.... What if he is, and he's trying to take over the world again...." I admitted quietly.
" No. He wouldn't lock you up for something like that, and yeah, I get it. But it still doesn't explain all of this. If he was mad that you couldn't stay, why would he wait until almost midnight. On top of that, he's kept us in this room for hours! It's probably already morning!"
"Sora!" I said warningly.
"It's true! So Z-ARC might be back? Haven't we beaten him before? Can't we do it again!?" Sora added.
"I don't know! After all, Reira is just a baby now! He's the only one who's been able to take on Ray's spirit, and we would need her in order to beat him! You saw the destruction he's capable of! You should know better than most! It was your dimension that he trashed!" I yelled without thinking, clenching the bottom of my seat.
There was silence for a moment. I let out a sigh. I went way too far....
"I'm sorry, I went to far ...Reiji thinks that Z-ARC is draining the portals to the other dimensions so that he can remanifest his physical form. That way, he doesn't have me or my counterparts fighting for control.... Apparently, according to Reiji's theory, Z-ARC's already terminated the 'Fusion' portal, and the 'Synchro' portal seems to be next on the chopping block.... Did you know that the 'Fusion' portal closed yesterday?"
Sora looked away from me. In a vain attempt to read him, I tried to see his face, but as I moved my head to get a better look, he turned his head in the opposite direction.
"Sora, I'm sorry.... I shouldn't have gone that far..." I apologize softly.
The feeling of guilt started to set in. he's upset now because I took things too far. I stood up from my chair and walked around the table to sora.
"....I should have thought before I spoke..." I added.
"You have no reason to apologize, you did nothing wrong. I should be the one apologizing..." Sora said before I could add anything else.
I gazed softly at him. A small tear slipped from the corner of his eye.
"Sora?" I couldn't stop myself.
I grabbed his shoulders and then pulled him into an embrace. He stiffened.
"What's bothering you? You're my friend; I want to help you if something's wrong. And it seems that there is. Let's just set everything else aside for a moment. Talk to me." I said softly.
Neither of us said anything for a moment. Then, breaking the lengthy embrace, Sora pulled away and walked over to my chair.
"We do need to talk...." he stated firmly.
I nodded. Whatever is eating at you, I need to know. If I don't, how can I help you?
"I'm not your Sora.... It was a nice fantasy for a few moments, but this is reality. I'm sorry that I deceived you.... Anyway, I this is going to sound super crazy, and you're more than likely gonna' have no idea what I'm talking about, but please hold all questions until the end." I nodded.
"I'm not from here either, the only reason I know anything about this 'devil duelist', is because everyone talks about him. From what I can tell, you and you brothers-"
"I don't have any brothers." I cut in, curious as to what he was talking about.
He raised a finger and closed his eyes.
"I'm getting to that." I sat in Sora's chair as he spoke.
"As I was saying. You and your, counterparts, yes i think that's what they were called ...anywho, where was I? Oh! Yes! That's right! The 'devil duelist'! When your separate forms combined into one, this man, Z-ARC, was created. He was a combination of you four and the four strongest dragons, one of each summoning method. But he existed before you guys, and so it only makes sense that as pieces of him, that you could bring him back by fusing. It's like he's the puzzle and you're the pieces. Anyway, once you guys just so happened to refuse, a kid named Reira, took in the spirit of of a girl named Ray, who in turn beat Z-ARC and sealed him away. But even though he was gone, you four remained fused. After that, after I found out there were portals to each of the four dimensions that were created when Z-ARC was beaten the first time. I also found out that I have a look-alike who's from the fusion dimension. That's your sora, the look-alike I ended up meeting. I'm not from one of the dimensions. I came here through a wormhole that can more than likely transcend space and time. In this world, you deal with inter-dimensional warfare, oppression, breathtaking destruction, and trust issues as you attempt to make friends. But where I'm from, we deal with things like the 'world illusion', the 'genesis omega dragon', and time-space manipulation hazards. I'd love to tell you everything but there is little time. I came here with a boy who looks just like you, and is in fact, named 'Yuya' as well. We ended up in different places I guess." Sora finished.
I stared at him owleyed.
"What?"
