How..How-..How can you just-...!
"Phantom?" Yuya asked, his contoured in slight worry.
"Uh-Um..I- um.. I should- I should go back downstairs; so you can change..." I stuttered out.
I stood and walked up to the door. As I reached it, a soft, yet firm hand slid onto my shoulder. I turned around to see Yuya, silently trying to comfort me. Honestly, I thought I'd see more of myself in him since we already look practically identical, but I don't. surprisingly, all I see are my brothers... He has Yugo's spirit when things around him seem gloomy; he's got Yuri quick wit; he even shows the quiet, caring, and empathetic side of Yuto... Even though we look so similar, we couldn't be more different. I sighed. Knowing him he probably thinks I'm irritated from how boldly he proclaimed that he'd help me...
I nodded to him, hoping he understood that I wasn't, and headed back down to the living area. I slid down the pole and landed gracefully on the wooden floors.
"Phantom!" Sora exclaimed, jumping up from the couch and wrapping his arms around my waist, smiling brightly.
"So how'd it go? What'd you guys talk about?" He said exasperatedly, like a kid asking how their parent's day at work was.
I sighed with a smile and pushed him away.
"Sensitive info is not for your ears, little one." I said playfully.
"Hey! You're not that much older than me!" He said annoyedly.
I laughed slightly.
"Are you smaller than me?"
"Well yeah, but-"
"Alright then. Little one." Sora pouted, crossing his arms.
"Lunch is ready!" Yoko sang from the kitchen.
Sora raced to the table, seeming to have left his annoyance behind and replaced it with an excited smile. A moment later, I joined him at the table.
"Hey, Sora?" I asked curiously, gaining his attention almost immediately.
"Do you know about the other 'Sora'?" Sora shifted a bit, his smile seemed to darken slightly.
"Actualy, I do. I've met him too!mAfter I met the 'other me' from here, he offered to help us get back. Of course, I told him that we should hurry, seeing as we don't know the circumstances by which we can stay here. After that he said that he was going to a place called 'Duel Academy' to see what they had that might help us get home." Sora answered with a smile; but I could see a small trace of resentment hidden beneath it.
To be honest, I don't blame him. Ever since we got here, I guess we've both seen people who remind us of the travesties we've faced. I'm a little surprised though; he's already met his other self. Not to mention, he's talked to him about the situation and got him to agree to help us in the same amount of time that it took me to get a slight grasp on what's going on!
Yoko placed a plate with one of those pancake things in front of each of us, as well as another plate beside me.
"Yuya! Lunch is ready!" Yoko called upstairs.
After a moment of no reply, Yusho stood and made his way up the stairs to Yuya's door. He knocked lightly on the wood, earning a soft reply from within.
"Lunch's ready." Yusho stated firmly.
"Alright, I'll be down in a sec!" Yuya replied kindly.
Yusho returned from upstairs and headed into the kitchen, giving Yoko a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Yuya! I'm headed out!" He called to his son as a click echoed from upstairs.
Within a second Yuya and Zarc were flying down the stairs. As he reached his father, he gave him a tight hug.
"See you later, Dad!" Yuya exclaimed, loosening his grip and heading over to the four person table.
He sat down quietly, Zarc slipping under the table to lay down.
"Where's he going?" I asked, watching Yusho open the door and wave to 'good bye' to us.
He stared owl-eyed at me for a moment before giving a slight laugh.
"I'm sorry, he's going to see Leo for some sciencey stuff." He answered, his cheeks reddening slightly.
"So he's a scientist too...?" I asked myself quietly.
Yuya seemed to be the only one to hear me though. He placed a hand on my shoulder, our eyes our eyes locking to one another.
"I may not know what happened in your world, but you don't need to worry about those things happening here. After all, I'm pretty sure you guys don't have four different dimensions that some crazy principal tried to push together." He joked lightly.
I stared wide-eyed at him for a moment before we both burst out into laughter.
