Chapter 11

Carter's POV

I woke up the next morning to dad shaking me. I groaned but sat up "rise and shine, be down in ten" he said.

I got up and grabbed a T-shirt, a pair of jeans and a random hoodie before heading into the bathroom to change.

I put in my contacts before unplugging my phone and going downstairs. I was carrying my notebook under my arm as I typed on my phone.

I kept a notebook with things I needed to do that day as long as a schedule for school and all my teachers names and important stuff needed to be done for school.

I walked into the kitchen and put my shoes on. I grabbed a bagel from dad and ate it before we headed onto school.

When we arrived I was sitting in my first period when I started becoming co-conscious with Reese. I excused myself from class before rushing to the guidance counselor.

He knew about my DID and told me if I felt like I was going to switch to go to him. When I got into the office I told the secretary I was going into Mr.Woodson's office she told me to go ahead so once I got in there I collapsed into a chair.

Reese was being very annoying. "Stop" I said outloud on accident. "Sorry" he replied back be co-conscious is interesting.

"Carter?" Mr.Woodson said "Sorry" I said. Then I switched.

Reese's POV

I was being very annoying and Carter didn't like it so I switched with him.

I sat up "Hey Mr.Woodson" I said. "It's Reese" "Well Reese now that you've switched you need to go back to class" he said.

"Alright" I said so I got up and walked outside the office before taking a look at Carter's notebook.

I looked through the notebook Carter had a few projects going on he had to work in during class and then a Drama club meeting after school.

I checked Carter's schedule then the time and headed to his US history class.

Carter's POV

When I got home from school with Kylie and Blake the house was chaos. I walked up to dad who was rocking Kai back and forth sitting on the couch.

"What is going on?" I asked. "Kai's being admitted to the hospital tomorrow morning. His lung function was 78 today at his appointment. Dr.Taylor said that was pretty bad for his age, me and your papa have a lot to figure out before tomorrow, considering we're supposed to be in the new house by Monday" he said.

It was already Thursday and almost everything was packed but Kai being in the hospital would make it difficult to move everything. We were moving closer to the city so we would have easier access to the hospital, Kai's doctor, Papa's work and such, we were lucky we didn't have to move schools though.

"Who is everyone staying with?" I asked. "I think the girls are gonna stay with Grandpa and Faith said you could stay at her place" he said. "Uncle Ash said you could stay with him too, I think him and Uncle Nick are going to be helping us move since someone has to be at the hospital with Kai at all times"

"I'm probably guessing Uncle Ash would be better, because I can help move things and I don't want Faith to have to worry about my DID" I said. "Sounds like a plan, I just didn't want you cooled up with all the people at Grandpa's house because I know how you are" He said. "thanks, we're gonna go up to my room" I said.

"Alright" he said.

Kylie, Blake and I went up to my room. We just played around up there for a few hours until papa called us down for dinner.
