Chapter 26

A/n I decided to make this chapter more of a flashback one from right after Carter was born. In the original book Reliving the Past I made a chapter kind of like this but it was starting when cps took him and in the orphanage to being adopted. Let me know if you enjoy this chapter and I can make more like this in the future.

Carter's POV

I looked around the smaller sized home as we walked inside. "Follow me Carter we set you up a little room but we'll take you shopping this weekend to pick out things for it yourself" Tyler said setting down the little girl Spain.

He guided me upstairs and then into a room. It had a twin size bed a desk and a dresser plain but it was nice. On the desk was a phone box.

Daryan walked over and grabbed the phone. "A little welcome home present the whole family chipped in a little" he said handing me the box an iPhone 8 I had never had a phone so this meant a lot.

"T-thank you" I said smiling.

"No problem I'll help you set it up later" Daryan said. "For now you can explore the house a little"

"Alright babe I'll be in my office I have a conference call I need to be in" Daryan said turning towards Tyler.

"Alright" Tyler replied "don't forget James and Celine are coming for dinner"

"I won't" he replied before heading back downstairs I sat on the bed putting my bag next to me.

"I'll be down the hall putting the girls down for a nap just yell if you need me other than that feel free to explore" Tyler said.

I nodded and he walked down the hall to a room the little girls had gone in earlier. I opened my bag and pulled out my blanket my Aunt had made me and unwrapped it to put it on my bed when a necklace fell out.

I smiled it was the necklace with my Uncle's ashes in it I had momentarily forgotten about it and was really sad when I realized at the orphanage.

I clipped the necklace on before I walked downstairs again. An open floor plan the kitchen and living room were right next to each other.

I smiled a little looking at the pictures on the walls. A picture of what I assumed was the girls as babies. One that seemed to be Daryan and Tyler's wedding picture. Another with fifteen people in it. Daryan, Tyler, the girls, and the older guy from earlier.

I hadn't noticed Tyler come downstairs until he was standing behind me. "that's my side of the family you'll meet them all soon enough" he said I jumped a little. "Tonight you'll get to meet Daryan's sister and her boyfriend"

"Do you think they'll like me? Most of my other family didn't" I asked.

"I'm sure they will" he said. "Celine loves kids and James is a nice guy, we're having family dinner at my Dad's house tomorrow so you'll get to meet my family"

"Oh" I said "cool"

"What does Daryan do for a living?" I asked.

"He runs his dad's company for him" Tyler said walking into the kitchen. "He insisted on getting you an iPhone instead of the phone he manufacturers he said it would mean more since he doesn't have to pay for those"

"It means a lot" I said following him. "it's been years since I've gotten a gift of any kind"

"We won't treat you like that here" he said putting a hand on my shoulder. "If anything we spoil our kids"

I looked at myself in the bathroom mirror before heading down to the living room. "Ready?" Daryan asked. We were going to Tyler's Dad's house for dinner.

"Yeah" I said.

"Alright let's go" Tyler said grabbing Spain.

We headed across the street to the house from yesterday where the girls were. When we got inside there was a bunch of people.

The first person to come up to us was a guy who looked about Tyler's age. "Carter this is my brother Erin" Tyler said.

"H-hi it's nice to meet you" I said large crowds tended to give me anxiety.

"It's nice to meet you too Carter" Erin said shaking my hand.

Soon enough everyone was seated in the living room. "So everyone this is Carter" Tyler said. "We've adopted him"

The room filled with some hi's or hi Carter. I felt awkward in the room like I didn't fit in.

"Carter those are my parents Eric and Eden the twins the call them grandad and PawPaw" Tyler said. One was the older guy from before he had blonde hair and the other had dark brown and.

"Hi" I said with a slight wave.

"It's nice to meet you Carter" the brown haired one named Eden said.

"You too" I said.

"That's my sister Lauren, her husband Kodi, and the triplets Avalynn, Elaine, Hunter and their newborn Nate" Tyler said.

"Hi, it's nice to meet you all" I said.

"You too Carter" Lauren said "I can tell you'll fit right in with my little brother and his family.

"She's only older by five minutes but she had to rub it in all the time" Tyler said. I giggled slightly.

"Anyway that's my brother Erin, his husband Derek, and their son Camdyn" Tyler said.

"Hey kiddo how's it going" Erin said.

I shrugged "good"
