Chapter 25

Carter's POV

"Come on guys you'll miss the bus!" Dad yelled. I buckled Alena into her rocker seat and grabbed my bag.

"Dada will be back later" I said kissing her forehead. I waved a little before heading to the kitchen. I ran out the door following the twins to the bus down the street.

"Bye Dad!" I waved "love you"

He waved back before closing the door behind him into the house. I climbed on the bus after the twins and walked to the back.

After we arrived at school I found Kylie waiting at my locker. "Hey babe" she said. "how's Alena?"

"She's doing good" I said "she's excited to see her mama after school"

"I'm excited to see her" she said.

The warning bell rang and we headed to first period.

"Today we're welcoming two new students into your grade they're twins" Mrs.Lenson said.

I rolled my eyes we got new students at least once a month I looked back down at my notebook I was doodling in.

"Sammie and Seth" Mrs.Lenson said I looked up. The twins from the orphanage we're walking into the classroom.

I smiled. Kylie looked at me weirdly from next to me. Seth looked awkward in the new place.

"You two can take a seat at the other side of Carter and Kylie's table" Mrs.Lenson said.

They made their way to our table not really paying attention. When they sat down Sammie took a look at us for the first time.

"Carter?" He said. "Are my eyes actually playing tricks on me"

"I can't believe this" I said.

"Boys quiet down" Mrs.Lenson said as she began class. After our morning classes Kylie met me at my locker.

"Ready for lunch?" She asked.

"Yeah I just wanna find those twins from earlier" I said.

"Do you know them from somewhere?" Kylie asked as I put my things in my locker.

"Yeah, from the orphanage" I said. "Sammie was my best friend"

She smiled at me "is that them over there?" She said pointing behind me. I turned around and and my eyes found the red headed twins.

"Hey boys!" I yelled and they looked in my direction. "Over here!" I waved them over and they came over.

"Mind helping us find the cafeteria?" Seth said.

"Yeah come on you can sit with us" I said. We all walked to the cafeteria and sat down at our lunch table.

"Who are these guys?" Blake asked.

"This is Sammie and Seth old friends" I said.

"So care to introduce us" Sammie said.

"Starting with the fine lady" Seth said looking at Kylie.

"She's taken" I said putting my arm around her. "Well this is Kylie my girlfriend, her best friend Hannah and my best friend Blake"

"Nice to meet you all" Sammie said.

"So how long were you guys there til you got adopted?" I asked.

"We just got adopted last week" Seth said.

"That's great" I said "you'll have to come meet my family sometime"

"Maybe after school?" Sammie said. "Our uh parents don't get home til eight they said we could explore the town"
