Ellie POV
Yes. I walked away guilty as charged. Sure you think i'm stubborn and I always get my way.
But she gave me a choice and I chose. It's give and take. That's all.
I look out the taxi window. After a moment of thinking, I pulled my phone out of my purse, and texted Jackson.
Hey
Hey
Can I umm stay at your hotel or something tonight, I got in a huge fight with Melissa and... you get the rest...
Yeah sure, but um I have that appointment I told you about earlier, and I will be gone early tomorrow morning to New Jersey. I will come back though.
Kay see you soon :)
:)
I put my phone down, and stared out the window for the rest of the way. I decided that I would stop by the hotel to get some things.

I take out a plastic bag that I find under the bathroom sink, shake it out a little, and throw a three pairs of clothes in, pajamas, all my hygienic things, and my stuffed whale that I brought everywhere ever since I got diagnosed. Don't judge me.
I feel so cruel, to be leaving Melissa. But it's not like I am leaving her forever. Just a day or two. I anyways leave Friday. I have to go back to the hospital and get checked. A PET scan, an MRI, and some blood tests.
I decide to let her know that I have left. I scribble down a note, and leave it on the counter.
Long if you ask me, but it's what I needed to tell her how I feel. I take a look at my calendar. Today is Wednesday, July sixteenth. I didn't want to leave the big apple. This place finally felt like,
Home.
I took out my phone and texted Jackson.
What room are you in again?
And floor.
Room 3765 on the 37th floor. You know where the building is.
Kay
I shut off my phone and call a taxi.

I walk towards the lobby. As I enter cool air hits me, refreshing me from the hot and damp summer outside. The lobby is beautiful.
Gold color painted walls, drizzled with drops of sparkles here and there, yellow and brown soft couches, beautiful plants stuck in corners, and on side tables, that stretch out at everything, glass coffee tables, several tvs and a receptionist desk. People scattered everywhere.
I head over to the elevator, and find it is empty. I press the button that says 37 and the doors close and I shoot up.

I set my stuff down in the extra room that Jackson has. It's way better than the one at the other hotel. Painted like the lobby walls, a queen sized bed, and tv, and a brown mahogany nightside table.
While this one has a king sized bed, light blue walls, a glass bedside table, flatscreen tv, a couch, and a bench in front of the bed. I sit there in admiration, when the voice of Jackson startles me.
"Make yourself comfortable. we leave for central park, in an hour." He says, and tosses me a roll of gauze. I look at him puzzled when I remember how I told him about my ankle as an excuse for my lungs. I had to tell him sooner or later. The more I spend time with him, the more this secret eats away at me. Peice by piece breaking me apart.
