I call my mom right away. She needs to be here. I dial the number and after a few rings she pics up.
"Mom?"
"Yes?"
"Can you come to the hospital?"
"Why what's wrong?" Her voice is distant and I can hear the radio in the background.
"Ellie had some kind of heart attack thing and-" I say tearing up but she interrupts me.
"I'm on my way." She says.
I wipe a tear from my face. I look in the bathroom mirror and decide to wash my face. I decided to go back. I can easily avoid Jackson. I've done it before I can do it again.
I walk across branches of hallways until I get back to the room where Ellie was staying. Her mom and Jackson weren't around. I look through the window still shaded by blinds.
I called Jackson. Three times.
He didn't pick up or reply to any of my many texts.
I decided to call her mom next. No pick up.
I started to get worried. We're the doctors still working on her heart? It hasn't been long since I went to the bathroom. I decided to call her cellphone.
I have no idea what to do.
Voicemail. It goes straight to voicemail.
My last resort is to go inside. I don't hear noises so the doctors are probably gone. In fact it's awfully quiet. No monitors beeping.
I try the door knob.
Unlocked. I twist it down and slowly push open the door, trapped in a moment of suspense.
The room is dark. No lights are turned on. The only light that's in the room is the sunlight streaming through the window and creating a small pool of light on the floor.
The bed is made and none of our things are here.
Where is she?
