Jackson POV
As she opened the door, I stood still, with the rose in my hand. I know it's cheesy, but I wanted to impress her. My outfit was casual compared to hers. I was wearing jeans, a nice shirt, and a leather jacket, but she, was wearing a dress, makeup and her hair looked like she just showered. A girl with blonde hair just like Ellie's stood behind.
"Have fun." She said.
I led Ellie out into the hall way, we walked quietly, in awkward silence. I scratch the back of my head.
I try to say sometime but nothing comes to mind. She tries to say something, but is found to be caught in the same situation. I press the button to the elevator going down.
The elevator doors slide open. We walk out in front of the lobby, and wait for the valet parking to drive up with my car.
"Um... Do you have any... brothers or sisters?" I ask, stupidly.
"NO. My dad passed away, and um even before that my parents wouldn't have had another child because the fear I have caused them with my-" She sharply stops in mid sentence.
"Your what?" I say clearly in suspense. A car horn blasts, almost giving me a heart attack. I jump, and she laughs. I turn around to see the car that made such a disturbing sound, and I saw the black Ferrari, shining in the city lights, having the buildings reflect off of the windshield.
Ellie gasps.
"You have a Ferrari?" she asks wide eyed.
"Uh yeah."
"I could never afford such a thing in one million years!"
"Well you get a free ride tonight I say and flash a smile.

I'm a good driver, just the roads, make it hard to believe. Its crazy in New York. There are holes in the street, the streets are thin and cramped, traffic is 24/7 , and there are TONS of potholes. Remind me if I missed anything. You probably think that by now, I'm used to it, but no. No I am not. It drives you nuts. Anybody with nerves has an idea. "After all a man can stand so much and no more." said a famous author once. Ellie stared out the window.
"Do you have any restaurant requests?" I ask. I smile at my little rhyme there. Ok seriously Jackson. Be serious.
"Anywhere where there is ravioli. ravioli is my favorite food." she says plainly but insistent.
I keep driving and listen to the engine as I drive. The road is getting on my nerves, it's almost as if it has something against me. Droplets of water start to make their way down, onto the windshield.
"You look like you have a lot on your mind." I say breaking the deadly silence, that was somehow, quite loud.
"Constantly." she says.
"Ah. So you're a thinker?"
"Oh yes. You will get used to it though." she says. I don't wait for her to tell me whats on her mind. I have to be patient, and wait for her to find the right time.

I toss my car keys to the valet parking guy. We take a look at some menus, to see if we like the restaurant, and we find one with her favorite ravioli, (cheese) and my favorite, steak. We sit down, outside under a roof, (perfect for the rain.) and, look at the menu for appetizers.
I look up at Ellie from the menu.
"So... Why do't you tell me about more yourself?" I say awkwardly.
"Um well, I'm 16, you know that. My favorite color is blue, I love cold play, my father passed away 3 years ago, in a car crash, I got into one myself, a month ago, and thats kind of it."
"Wow, your life is... interesting." I say.
"Trust me, there's way more from where that came from."
"Hello have you decided on your drinks?" asks a polite waiter.
"Yes. She will have the cheese ravioli, and a-?"
"Coke, with lemon, easy on the ice."
"Okay." replies the waiter scribbling down what we said.
"And you will have the?"
"16 ounce filet, medium well, with mashed potatoes, and Coke as well, no lemon, tons of ice."
he looks at me strangely as he scribbles it down as well.
"Will that be it?"
"Yes." we say at the same time.
He walks away.
"So you haven't really told me about you." Says Ellie leaning over interested in my story.
"Ok well, I'm 18, I go to college already in Chicago, you know that, and MY favorite color is orange, I love the bears football team, and, my mother passed away when I was 13, from breast cancer, and that's kind of it." I say taking a drink. When I look up Ellie is looking down, and pale.
