Chapter 32 Earth

Opal's POV
How would I be able to sneak out of my chambers without now one noticing. I needed to leave as soon as possible. I had to get help from Steven, but I were told to stay here no matter what. This were going to be so difficult.

I can't possibly imagine how much longer I can stay here,
the pain jabbing in my gem gets more painful with each hour. It must be a sign that it won't get any better anytime soon.

I were pacing back and forth in my chambers trying to figure out how to sneak out. Pearl had noticed my pain and I had to tell her about it but I didn't want Yellow and the other diamonds to figure out too.I just didn't want them to worry more then they already did. They had so much to do, expecially with those rebels.

That's why I were thinking of sneaking out of here without telling them. If I were gone for only a hour or so and came back again no one would notice I were gone in the beginning. But how I would be able to succeed with that, I didn't know.
I were completely clueless when it came to that.

I stopped walking and facepalmed in frustration, I had no good ideas at all.
I had to figure this out as soon as possible or else this thing thats happening to me would only get worse.
-My Diamond, I might have an idea.

Pearl said as she looked up at me. She had a genuine smile on her face when she spoke. I looked at her with curiosity as I awaited her response.
-How about this my diamond, you could shape shift into a normal Homeworld gem and I could summon a ship to guide you to Earth.

Pearl said as she demonstrated the plan on her hologram screen.
I nodded and thought about the plan.

It wasn't a bad plan actually, maybe this could be my ticket to Earth. But what if I couldn't hold my form for so long. We had at least an hour before I would become way to exhausted and shape shift back to my regular form. But I guess it would be just the amount of time we needed.

I smiled happily at pearl and nodded with confidence, this were going to work. I needed to believe in her plan or how else could I fix this problem I had.
-Which gem do you think I should shape shift to, pearl?

I asked while having a soft smile plastered on my face. Pearl opened her hologram screen once again and began swiping thru the multiple pictures of different gems. She then let out a noise of accomplishment as she stopped on a picture with a pearl on it.

Pearl then made the hologram screen bigger and showed it to me. I gave a small smirk towards the picture of the gem, this were going to be interesting I thought.

I then let the light surround be as I began shape my form to the gem in the picture. I could feel myself become smaller and alot more lighter the before. This felt like old times when I were a regular small opal. Except I weren't that regular because opals were supposed to be fusions while I weren't.

When the light faded and revealed my new body towards pearl I could see she were staring at me while smiling ear to ear, fangirling. She ran up to me and gushed over my small new form.

She then realized what she were doing and she pushed herself of me while showing an obvious blush of emberassment on her cheeks.
-S-Sorry my diamond, I didn't mean to.

Pearl said as she scratched her neck in embarrassment. I chuckled slightly and told her it were fine. But more importantly, I needed to see my new form too.

I walked towards my reflective wall and looked at myself with curiosity.
When I saw my small new look I could feel stars form in my eyes as my mouth were slightly opened due to the shook of how different I looked.

My hair were a baby blue Bob cut that were covering my diamond eyes,
my skin had become a darker blue and the freckles of gold were now gone. My hight were now exactly the same as the rest of the pearls and my gem were on my chest but it had turned. Making it look more like a pearl then an opal ish diamond.

I turned my attention back to my pearl and gave her a proud smile.
-Let's do this pearl.

I said to her with pure confidence. She nodded and began guiding me towards that ship she mentioned.

She lead me out of my chambers and we hid from any unwanted attention from any other gem that were walking in the halls. We couldn't get caught already so we had to be careful. But when we were a good amount away from my chambers we walked normally but were still on guard from unwanted attention.

We started picking up the pace, wanting to get out of here as soon as possible. But that stopped when I walked into something, making me fall backwards on my butt. I groaned out at the sudden fall but got back up to my feet.

I then looked up to see what I bumped into and I felt myself freeze. It were Blue Diamond. She couldn't know that it was me, I had to hide it.

I stretched my back and did the diamond poze, looking down to avoid getting eye contact. Even though my eyes were hidden by my hair I didn't want to risk it. If she saw my diamond eyes she would know in a split second that it were me.
-I'm sorry my diamond,I didn't mean to bump into you.

I said in a nervous voice, feeling she would detect who I were any second now. I just didn't have the time to tell her whats going on, not only that. If I did, she would tell Yellow and I didn't want her to worry about me more then she already did.
-No need to apologize, though I do wonder why two pearls are doing here. Aren't you Opal's pearl?

Blue Diamond said as she looked towards pearl, she gulped and fixed herself as she began talking.
-Yes I am, my diamond.
I was told by Opal to lead this pearl to the ships that goes to Earth. Opal wanted some more information on Earths all living beings so she wanted this pearl to investigate it.

Pearl explained to Blue Diamond. Blue then looked at me and then nodded in understanding. Thank the stars she believed that story, I thought I were screwed.
-Oh, then I won't bother you anymore.
I don't want Opal to be left alone in her chambers for way to long after all.

Blue Diamond said as she waved me and pearl of to our "duty".
We imidiently began walking away from her and Blue pearl in a hurry, trying to get away.

Pearl turned to the right hall and now we were outside the diamonds palace. What a relief no one had noticed who I were or else we were going to get in alot of trouble. We were after all so close to being discovered by Blue. I thought I would literally faint when I bumped into Blue.

My thoughts were interrupted when I could see a blue round ship in the rear of my eye getting closer as we were walking towards it. This must be the ship pearl talked about.

As we were only a couple of meters away from the ship, pearl opened the doors letting me get inside. I walked inside the small round ship and sat down on the soft chair, looking at the opened door where pearl were standing.
-Have a safe trip my diamond, I wish I could accompany you but it would instantly be detected that you were gone if I were gone from your chambers.

See you later then, my diamond.

Pearl said as she took a couple of steps away from the ship, the motor of the ship coming alive. I smiled and nodded at her.

The doors of the ship began closing and the ship began lifting up from the ground. I saw pearl waving thru the small window on the door of the ship, I waved back at her as she ship began speeding of into the endless darkness of space.

I looked out from the windows seeing many beautiful stars pass by as streeks of light because of how fast the ship were going. I felt a small smile appear on my lips when I could see Earth in the distance.

I do apologize for not uploading in a while, I have been enjoying Christmas with my family.
