Chapter 44 What If?

Lapis Lazuli's Pov
There her gem was,covered in hundreds of cracks.It looked like her gem were holding itself together for dear life.

I gasped as I saw her gem on the floor and quickly scurried towards the broken gem.I felt tears prick my eyes as I softly and carefully cupped the gem up with my hands as I didn't want to harm it any further.

I wanted to bring it up further up but as soon as I just moved just an inch to much the gems cracks just became more as it stretched out both inside and outside the gem.

It was so fragile, even more fragile then porseline.

The other gems walked over towards me when they heard the following cracks in my hands, surrounding the gem in my hands.

I looked at the gem and tears fell down my face in an ugly cry.
-Thank the stars she is alive...

I whispered, I were so happy knowing Opal were alive. There wasn't anything else I could wish for I thought as I saw my tears drip down on the gem and seeped thru the cracks.

Even though I was happy I was yet so sad, seeing her gem this destroyed, it really broke what was left of my heart as Steven had described it.

Peridot pushed away 2 of the gems that surrounded me and walked towards me, as she saw the gem in my hands she fell hard on her knees and started sobbing.
-Opal...

Peridot managed to sob out as she stared at the broken gem. She quickly turned her head were Steven was. She stood back up on her feet as she approached him, she took his hand in hers and led him towards me and Opal.
-Please heal her Steven..

Peridot desperately pleaded towards him, almost even begging. I looked up towards the human/gem hybrid with a sad expression.
-Please...

I pleaded towards the boy,with teary eyes.He gave me a small smile as he walked closer towards the cracked opal in my hands.
-Of course I will heal her, after all, she is family.

He said with a cheery voice as he licked his palm and placed it upon the gemstone.The gem started shining as the spit seeped thru the cracks and some weird thicc black liqued run out of it.

It fell on the floor and garnet immediately walked towards it and trapped it with her pink bubble. She touched the tip of the bubble and in faded away, probably to their temple on the beach.

I looked at her with a confused glare and she just looked at my hands with a small genuine smile on her lips.
I looked back at my hand seeing a whole gem, without any cracks.But somehow the gemstone looked alot more healthier than ever before, if that even was possible.

I carefully brushed the gems surface with my hand, feeling no cracks or weird bumps.My lips turned into an smile seeing the healthy gem in my hands.I clutched it towards my chest,hugging it with pure happiness for my friend.
-Thank the stars.

I muttered out once again, I felt a hand on my back seeing it was Peridot. She smiled at me and stared at the gem in my hands.
-How about we get back to our home.

Peridot said with a cheerful voice as I could see her eyes glossen with happy tears. I returned a smile as I looked at her face.
-Yes,let's do that.

I said as I got back up on my feet and smiled towards the gems with pure appreciation.Without their help, Opal wouldn't have survived.
-Thank you.

I said towards the groups of gems, Amethyst gave me a toothy smile, Pearl smiled happily giving me a nod and Garnet simply gave her thump up. Steven came towards me and hugged me, I returned the hug with exactly the same spiritual happiness as he did.
