Chapter 35 Awake

Steven's Pov
It had been about a month since we had found Opal in that ship I thought as I walked out to the living room, staring at the sleeping gem on the couch.

I sighed and walked up towards her and looked at her gem, trying to see if there were something wrong. But there weren't even a single scratch. Even though the gem weren't craked it couldn't hurt to check. I had this feeling something just weren't right, but I couldn't figure out what.
I moved the blanket over her body and tucked her in since it had fallen on the floor, I sat down bedside her and looked at her.
-Please wake up...

I whispered towards Opal, trying to get any response from her, but nothing. I then felt a comforting hand on my shoulder. I looked up trying to see who it was and it were Garnet. She had a sad smile on her face.
-She will wake up someday Steven, she just need some time.

Garnet said in a low voice, seeming like she doubted her own words. I then sighed softly while we were watching the gem sleep.

Garnet decided to walk away, leaving me and Opal alone. I leaned my head over hers trying to get a reaction, but she were still as a stone sculpture. I then waved me hand over her face but still nothing.

Hmmmmm, how could I wake her up I thought as I inspected her. Maybe with my healing spit I thought as I spit onto my hand and placed it on her gem. But still nothing. I then tried again but on her back were she had been pierces by the iron pipe before.

Still nothing.....

I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration, there must be a way to wake her up I thought. I then started pacing back and forth trying to figure out how to wake her up, just letting her sleep wouldn't do.

But then saw movement caught my attention at the corner of my eye, I looked at the couch staring intensively at her, I know I saw something. Then another movement happened as she twitched her finger.
Her eyebrows lowered in annoyance as her eyes fluttered open.

I gasp in shock as she sat up in an instant, holy stars. She was awake, shewasawake I internally screamed in happiness. I then flung myself over her and wrapped her in a bear hug.
I was so happy that she were okey, I then stood up in an instant as I knew I had to inform the other gems about the happy news.
-Wait here!

I said in a loud, happy voice as I ran away from the living room to the gems.

Opal's Pov
Steven had rushed out of the room, leaving me alone. I looked around at the unfamiliar place I were in. This must be the insides of the beach house Steven lived in.

How long had I been unconscious I thought as I looked down on my hands as I closed and opened them. I felt so stale and my body were so weak and frail. Even my movements had slowed down. What had happened to me I thought.

I were snapped back to reality as Steven had rushed back in the room with Pearl, Amesthyst and Garnet. They all seemed shocked as they saw me awake, they rushed towards me giving me a crushing bear hug.
I could hear multiple sniffles come from them. Why were they so happy, I couldn't have been asleep for so long, right?

They then let go of the hug, looking at me with happy, reliefed smiles on their faces. Pearl even had started tearing up, it must have been her that sniffles so much during the hug.
I chuckled happily and smiled at them. I then scratched my neck with embarrassment as I spoke out.
-So how long were I gone?

I asked with a soft chuckle trailing after it. Steven then walked in front of me doing an dramatic scene, he then took my hands as he answered.
-A month...

He said with a serious voice.
I just stared at him with a blank face, probably loosing a couple of shades of blue on my face. He were about to say something but I just snapped, grabbing his shoulders in a tight grip and started shaking him.
-WHAT DO YOU MEAN A MONTH!!!

I practically shouted like a maniac, Steven's face were turning a few shades purple from all the shaking. Making me stop in my tracks, leaning my face dangerously close to his while I still held a tight grip on his shoulders.
-Steven, what do you mean I have been asleep for a month.

I said in a more quiter voice, trying to hold my panic so I didn't scare the boy. I wanted answers and he could answer them. So I weren't going to scare away the only source who could explain all of this. After all, he were also the source to heal me with my problem with my gem.
-It's exactly as it sounds like, after the crash you have been unconscious for a month. Or as I would like to say, you have been on my couch for a month.

Steven said holding a slightly panicked expression from my actions.
I sighed softly as I let go of Steven's shoulders. I then hid my face with my hands trying to gather the information Steven had just told me.
This were allot to take in, I had been asleep more like unconscious for a month.

I only wanted help from Steven and I ended up crashing and fell unconscious for a month. I am actually surprised my body/gem have held up all this time. Speaking of it, I don't feel the pain that had been jagging my gem from the moment when I were awake.
-Opal..

Garnet said in a soft voice as she sat down bedside me. I looked up from my hands looking at Garnet while I made a "huh" sound.Garnet then took of her sunglasses as she then spoke out.
-Do you mind telling us why you arrived to Earth?

Garnet said in a serious yet worried voice as she glanced into my eyes with her 3 eyes. I sighed softly and sat down so she were in front of me as I nodded towards her.

This were it, I were finally here.
This were my only hope for survival...

Could Steven be able to help our dear Opal or would she plummet down the darkness called death? That you will know in the next chapter and so on.

Sorry if I haven't been updating the story for a while, I just haven't been in a "I want to write" mood recently. I am also trying to figure out the plot on why Opal is feeling like she does.
