Chapter 26 Meeting new friends

Opal's POV
I couldn't believe my eyes, it was her. It was Pink. How did she survive, wasn't she supposed to be shattered. Why? How?What?

Many questions about the diamond popped inside my head as every second passed. I couldn't figure things out, I couldn't know why. Do I see things? Maybe I was just shocked?

I pinched my cheek trying to see if I were dreaming. Pain inflicted to my cheek making me whince in pain.
Ouch, I was not. This was real. Holy stars THIS was real?!

My gaze left Pink and went to Yellow and Blue looking at them for answer but they seemed exactly as dumbfounded as me. They were crying pure joy and Blue were having Pink on her hand,smuching the small diamond on her cheek.

I chukled slightly at the sight before me and felt a smile tug at my lips. My questions in my head seemed to fade into only small ones but they still were there only not as visible, knowing that I would eventually have answers soon enough. But now we should just enjoy the moment.

The fusion were worried for Pink/Steven's safety. Maybe she thought Blue were to hurt her I thought looking at the fusion. She seemed to notice my gaze at her and she looked at me. She wasn't exactly happy with the situation, I could see it in her expression that she were very unconftertable by my gaze at her.
It were very easy to notice even though almost half of her face is hidden by her sunglasses.

Maybe I should greet myself properly I thought and I smiled at the thought as light formed around me. Thinking it would be easier if I reformed in a smaller size if I were to greet myself. After all I didn't want to seem like a threat.

When the light had disappeared revealing me in my new size, I were almost as tall as the fusion but slightly shorter. I walked towards her with slow steps and a smile on my face, signaling her that I wasn't hostile. She looked at me with confusion as she looked at my every move.

When I were only a meter away from her I bowed knowing this was some sort of greeting on Earth and looked up at her as our eyes meet. Or at least I think, her eyes are covered by the sunglasses but her head were in my direction.
-I apologize for our misunderstanding, we did not know about this. Maybe there is still a chance to be friends?

I spoke to the fusion and she had seemed to relax, I hadn't even noticed she were tense from the begining. The fusion the smiled and chukled slight.
- It's fine, we did not know either that Steven were the son of Pink, after all Pink hid her identity by changing her form and name to Rose Quartz. We knew about this only a couple of days ago.

The fusion said as she took out her hand in my direction. I looked at her hand with confusion as I didn't now what she were doing. She noticed my struggle and grabbed my hand in her hand and began shaking it.
-It's called a handshake, it's a thing we do here on Earth to greet others. My name is Garnet but you probably knew.

The fusion said as she had done her greeting ritual. My mouth turned into an "o" as I finally knew what she were doing to my hand. I think smiled warmly back at her as I opened my mouth to talk.
-It's a pleasure to meet you properly Garnet. My name is Opal and those two over there are Yellow and Blue diamonds, but yeah you probably figured that out already. They can seem mean and evil but they are actually very nice when you get to know them properly.

I told Garnet as I were pointing at Blue and Yellow as I said their name.
They were chatting with the other crystal gems and Pink, they seemed to be happy. It warmed my heart seeing them like this. I had instantly lost myself at the sight of Yellow feeling a uncrontrolable warm meaningful smile reaching my lips.

My gaze broke from Yellow when I were nudge on the shoulder by Garnet. I looked at her and she had a smile that were reaching to from to ear on her face. She took off her sunglasses and winked at me with on of her three eyes making me blush in embarrassment. She knew and I could feel it in the core of my gem. She mouthed out a "you love her" as she still didn't have her sunglasses on.

I hid my face with my hands trying to hide my blush from the fusion and she giggled at my reaction.

Then a very familiar voice that I loved so much spoke out towards me and Garnet.
-if you touch or hurt my sweet Opal I will make you regret it.

Yellow said with a serious voice as she glared daggers at Garnet, but she didn't seem to be effected my Yellow threat full comment. She only smiled toward her giving her a thumbs up signaling to Yellow that she understood as she spoke out.
-Ofcouse not.

Garnet said as she looked down back to me as she put on her sunglasses back on. Yellow looked at Garnet and nodded, she then looked towards me and when her eyes meet me her eyes lit up and a warm smile were placed on her face.

I looked up at her with a love filled expression smiling warmly at her. She then waved a bye to me signaling me that she were returning to Pink/Steven and the others. I then waved back still having a heart filled smile plastered on my face.

As Yellow had walked away from me and Garnet,as she had left my gaze I looked towards Garnet once again.

She put a hand on my shoulder having a caring small smile on her face. Even though we haven't been friends for long we had already started getting a strong bond. I guess it is because she understood how I felt because she herself were in love and were in a relationship. After all she is a perma fusion, creating the lovers Ruby and Sapphire love and affection towards each other into a person, and that was Garnet.

I don't think I could be able to be a permanent fusion with Yellow. Even though we would be one I would eventually miss seeing her and feel her warmth and affection. After all when you where a fusion you could not do that.

I asked Garnet about my thoughts, she understood why I would think so. She told me she were to unfuse then and there if they really needed or wanted to. I then also asked about Pink.

She explained to me that Steven weren't Pink but only her offspring, making Steven is own being and Pink's son. That he didn't have any of Pink's memories but only her gem and her powers but that's where about it.

It were simply so intriguing, maybe there were not so difficult to stop the hatred between the crystal gems and homeworks stop. Maybe there where still time left to be at peace with each other I thought as Garnet and I where looking at Blue,Yellow and the other gems talking and laughing with each other. I smiled at the sight feeling warmth of happiness inside my chest. This truly were such a peaceful sight to see after all those fights and wars towards each other.

We looked at them with a relaxed expression and began walking slowly towards them hearing the sound of waves hitting the stones on the shore and the sun had began to set. Making the sky a beautiful painting of yellow,orange and pinks.

Another chapter done my dearest readers, sorry for not uploading as much as I used to do but I guess it really took a lot of me. After all school had become very stressing as it have began reaching the holiday. Both tests and national test have been interrupting my peace to write.
