Chapter Three: "Yeah, my family's pretty messed up"I ran down the stairs hoping the guests hadn't stepped inside the house yet. Unfortunately, the voices coming from the kitchen told me otherwise.
"... This is my niece, Selena" The faint voice of Aunt came into hearing as I walked down the hallway. "...And this is my nephew, Aidan," she added.
"And that beautiful ray of sunshine right there, is my other niece, Sofia ," Aunt em introduced when I walked into the kitchen.
There stood awkwardly in the centre of Aunt Em's kitchen was a family of three- A mom, dad and their young son who looked around the age of Selena.
I walked over to the small family and shook hands with each of them, greeting them with a polite "hi", as I did so.
When I shook hands with the mother, she gave me an awkward, but polite smile and a quick wink.
I liked her already.
One thing I noticed about the mom was how shockingly beautiful and powerful she looked. Her shoulder-length, platinum blonde hair was curled perfectly, her eyes a stunning hazel-colour. She was a tall woman, that radiated puissant energy.
As for the father...
Sure, he was ok. I guess.
Compared to the mother, he looked fairly old. Not too old, but definitely not young. Maybe around his mid-sixties, while the mother looked like she was in her late thirties.
He was short and had blonde hair.
Balding, blonde hair.
That was pretty much it. Sugar daddy material, I suppose? Not my type of sugar daddy though. My eyes finally landed on the young boy. He— like his mother— was strikingly gorgeous. Although, he didn't quite look like her.
Instead of his mother's platinum blonde hair, he had brown-coloured, loose locks. His face had cute freckles, on his nose and cheeks, a tiny bit on his forehead. Eyes were just like his mothers— a beautiful hazel colour that you could probably get lost in-
Hold on.
This boy looks an awful lot like-
"Your house is huge. It took me a while to find one of the bathrooms," a familiar voice laughed from behind me. A way too familiar voice. One that annoyed the crap out of me.
Please, please, please don't be who I think it is.
I slowly turned around to face the boy I had hoped to never see again. Which was obviously impossible since he lived right next door. And his window was right across from mine. Again, I have been cursed with bad luck since birth.
Aunt Em walked over to me, and put her hands on each side of my shoulders. "This is Mr and Mrs. Franklin's son, Mason. He's your age by the way." Aunt Em gave me a quick nudge to my side as if to say- "now's your time shoot your shot."
I really wanted to be anywhere but here. Preferably watching The vampire diaries on my bed, as I debated whether or not I liked Kai over Klaus.
