Chapter Twenty: What An Epic Fail
The four of us walked down the stairs to where the boys were seated in the lobby.
Within the first few seconds they laid eyes on us, their jaws had hit the floor. Including Nathan, which I found pretty hilarious.
"Wow Selly, you look amazing," he complimented my sister. She giggled and punched his shoulder lightly.
"Don't be such a dork."
David took a step forward to gently grab his wife's arm and plant a kiss on the back of her hand. "Beautiful, darling."
Her smile didn't quite reach her face, but still she managed to maintain her composure , to avoid any unnecessary drama. "Thank you, sweetheart."
Aunt Em shifted uncomfortably, and cleared her throat. "All of you guys look absolutely remarkable, honestly."
David smiled. "Thank you Emily...the limousine is outside waiting for us, we should probably get a move on."
David led the way as we walked down the spacious lobby, and outside into the breezy evening weather, to where a white limousine was parked a few feet away from the entrance of the hotel.
As we walked, I felt Mason's intense gaze on me.
I turned my head slightly and gave him a small smile. "What? You like what you see?" I gave him a joking nudge on the side, to which he chuckled.
He licked his lips. "Your hair looks nice."
"Nice?" My eyebrow raised.
I had excepted a better compliment than that, but why should I complain? I mean, it's just Mason we're taking about here. Who cared for his opinion, right?
A soft laugh escaped his mouth. We slowly began to walk down the many steps outside the entrance.
"What? You want me to say you're the most beautiful woman I've ever laid eyes on? Want me to feed you compliments until you explode...I'm not that type of guy, Sofie."
His eyes tried to meet mine but I quickly looked away, my gaze focusing on the steady steps I took down the stairs in these freaking uncomfortable high heels.
