Chapter Twelve: "Ten Minutes""When is our food going to arrive!" Leo complained, impatiently.
"They said it would take twenty minutes, it's only been fifteen" Mason replied, flicking through his phone.
Mason and I arrived at the diner an hour ago. Everybody else arrived half and hour after us, which left me with an incredibly annoying Mason, bugging me for a very long thirty minutes.
All seven of us- Mason, Clarissa, Aysha, Joanna, Leo, Tristan and I, all sat on the spacious booth at the far back of the Diner.
We ordered our food about forty minutes ago, and were still waiting.
"Ugh, can we be any more antisocial? Come on you pieces you guys! Get off your fucking phones and try interact with one another," Clarissa groaned. She tried to snatch Leo's phone away from his hands, but he quickly dodged her. Leo gave Clarissa a warning glare.
Somebody was hangry.
Tristan rolled his eyes from where he was sat beside her. "Oh please, the only reason your saying that is because your phone got taken off you. Nobody asked you to break mama's rules about boys...bold of you." Tristan tutted.
Leo—who was squeezed in between Clarissa and Ayesha—included himself into our conversation.
"Exaclty" he laughed. "How dumb are you? Bringing a boy home when your mom went out of the house, just to get groceries. And in your living room? Downstairs?" Leo ridiculed. He looked at Tristan and rolled his eyes. "Fucking Amateurs."
"I only planned to have him in my house for ten minutes!" She fired back, and crossed her arms. Clarissa slouched down on the banquette.
Ayesha stifled a laugh. "Clarissa. Babe." Ayesha our her head in her hands. "You really thought it would be a good idea to watch a movie with this boy, at the same time your mom went to your local store to buy groceries?"
I heard Mason chuckle from beside me. "I haven't heard of any movies that lasted ten minutes."
"It was a short film you fucking intellectuals!" Clarities barked, mocking us. Joanna looked down and shook her head, trying to suppress her laugh.
"Short film? I didn't know TED 2, was a short film...guess you learn something new everyday," she pondered, jokingly putting her hands on her chin and looking up to the ceiling, squinting her eyes in deep thought. Clarissa through Joanna a stern glare. Joanna immediately put her hands up in defeat.
"Was he worth it, though? I know you weren't really watching a movie, you're mom is not that strict Clarissa," Tristan tormented, and Clarissa furrowed her eyebrows.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Tristan shrugged. "How long did he last?"
A series of stifled laughter came from our group, except Clarissa—of course. Her jaw hung low and her eyes wide open. She nudged Tristan with her elbow and he immediately clutched his side, achingly.
Clarissa shot Tristan another dirty look. "If you don't zip your mega mind looking, ratatouille looking, Lord farquade looking, Walmart version of Zac Efron looking, big forehead looking, lip fillers gone wrong, mouth the fück up—I can guarantee you, that by the end of tonight you will have no upper body because I would have shoved your balloon head so far up your aśs, people would start calling you cinnamon roll boy. Got it?"
