A new chance

The rest of the day went on without any complications. Damien and Patton were waiting for Thomas to arrive in front of the school, so they could drive home safely.
"Does this happen often?", Patton finally asked, worry in his voice. Damien looked at the ground and nodded slightly.
"B-but it's okay!" He got weird looks from the kids around him which made him shut up.

"No it's not, they're so mean! I have an idea, it was a stressy day, how about we eat a cookie or two at home?"
Damien smiled and nodded at the idea. That's when Thomas drove into the parking lot. The boy instantly ran over to him and entered the car, so did Patton.
"Hey Bud, How was your day?", Thomas asked, looking at the boy. Damien grinned widely. "Awesome!"

Patton frowned. Why was Damien lying? He wasn't quite sure if he should roll with it. Patton didn't want Damien to think that he can't trust him, but on the other hand, lying wasn't good and keeping such an awful thing a secret can be really unhealthy.
"Yeah, it was really good, except that incident", he finally said. Thomas turned more serious. "What incident?"

Damien, now not able to hide it anymore, sighed. "There were these three kids, but it's nothing to bad, really"
"Damien", Patton said sternly, thanks to his dad mode, but still softly. Called boy sighed again. "They ripped my drawing and insulted me..."
Thomas gasped shocked. How can someone do this to such a sweet little boy?
Seeing that Damien was uncomfortable with that topic, he sighed and kept on talking. "And How was the rest of your day?"

Damien smiles gratefully. "The Rest was okay. Class was really boring but Patton made it less boring!", he smiled brightly, making the two adults smile. "That's great"

Then they pulled into the parking lot. Damien hadn't realised that they were already back home. The three of them left the car and entered their home.
"We're back!", Thomas said. He didn't want to scare the boy with loud noises. They found out how he reacted to those the hard way.

On the second day he was there, Virgil and Roman got into a heated argument which ended up in yelling. They only stopped when they heard the quiet whimpering from the boy that was holding his ears and close to tears. After that they made sure to not get to loud in his presence.

The sides came from different directions and greeted them. "So, now that everyone's together, I was thinking we could make a new Sanders Sides Video soon"
Everyone agreed on that.
"I thought it could be about, you know, big changes and how to best deal with them, seeing as we have such a big change right now and others could need help and a few reassuring words if they don't take their change really easy"

"That's a wonderful idea!", Patton smiled brightly. Then, Thomas turned to Damien. "He bud, do you wanna help us filming the video? We'd do it on the weekend, so no stress."
Damien instantly nodded, happy to be able to help his family.
Family...yeah, that sounds right.
And his smile only widened.

"Who wants his cookies now?"
And it turned into a big grin.
