The next morning, Damien came down in his usual attire, just instead of Sander Sides Merch he was wearing a Cheshire Cat shirt. The boy was really nervous about not having his family in the afternoon but if they trusted this Emile, Damien was willing to give him a chance.
He stood at the top of the stairs when he heard Thomas voice.
"And remember, no loud noises and if you watch Cartoons, no Steven Universe, we're watching this together. And he's really shy around strangers"
Silence.
"Alright. And again, thank you for taking care of him for today. Yes, see you later"
Damien supposed that his Dad had hung up. It was obviously a call since Thomas wasn't one to talk to himself. The boy went down the stairs and into the kitchen, where Thomas was currently sitting on a table.
"Morning...", Damien said tiredly. Thomas turned around and smiled.
"Good Morning Buddy. Ready for the last day of the week?"
Damien smiled a little and nodded before the boy sat down. They had their breakfast together and Damien was sipping the rest of his hot cocoa, when the sides appeared. Of course they wouldn't just leave the kid today without saying their goodbyes personally.
When Damien sat down his cup, Patton was the first to hug him. "I hope you have a great day kiddo! Take care and if something goes wrong, the school can call Thomas!", he said while Damien just nodded and hugged back.
Patton only let go after a few more moments and ruffled the child's hair. Roman was the next to step forward. He knelt down so they were both in eye level and smiled.
"Don't let them wear you down, they're just afraid because they know you're stronger than them", Roman said, smiling at Damien, who smiled back at his brother-like friend.
"I will", he said with a determined nod. Roman smiled and hugged the boy as well.
The creative side stepped aside and Logic approached the kid.
He knelt down as well and mustered a calm smile.
"I'm positive you will make it through the day, even if we're not there. We will come back in the later afternoon, though", Logan said, before looking at Patton and then copying what that side did before, and ruffled Damien's hair. The boy smiled and hugged his favourite teacher. Logan was taken aback a little, but returned the hug soon enough.
Virgil was the last of his brothers to approach. He knelt down as well and gave the kid a smile. "We'll ne back before you know it. And trust me, we wouldn't choose Emile if we weren't a hundred percent sure that he's able to take care of you", the anxious trait said with a reassuring smile. Damien took a moment but nodded afterwards at the statement. The two of them hugged as well, before all four sides disappeared and Thomas let his son to the car.
