Damien followed the woman downstairs. After a year, he still didn't knew any names. He didn't want to know them either. He wouldn't talk with them anyways so it had no use remembering the names.

The boy made sure to sit alone. Other kids were just meanies. He quickly ate before attempting to run back to his room.
"Damien", a black haired, male caretaker stopped him and he shivered at the stern voice.
"Tomorrow is Saturday, don't forget that."

Damien quickly nodded and ran back to his room. Tomorrow, families will come to search for children they wanted to adopt. Damien didn't like these days. He knew that people wanted children that laugh and play outside. Children that make friends and no trouble. He wasn't like that so people wouldn't adopt him.

On the way back to his room, Damien bumped into a group of elder kids. The boss, a black haired girl. She was eleven. Her two bodyguards, a ten year old girl with light brown hair and an boy of the same age with dirty blonde hair.

"S-sorry...", Damien mumbled before trying to walk past them.
"Hey, it's the favourite!", the brunette girl said in a mocking tone. The boy pushed Damien onto the wall while the girls laughed. All the caretakers were in the dinner room. No one was there to help, and the three kids knew that.

The oldest girl, the one with the black hair, took his round glasses off his nose.
"I-I need those!", the boy said. Everything was now burry and he could only tell who was who by the color schemes.
"I know", the bossy girl said, letting his glasses fall to the ground and stomping on it. The younger two let out a shocked gasp as they looked at the glasses. The left glass of them was now broken with a slightly deformed frame and Damien tried not to cry. He quickly went on his knees tried to find his glasses, since the color of the frame suited the one of the carpet. By the time he found them and brought them back to his nose, the three kids were gone.

At least only one side was broken. The girl didn't stomp to hard so there was just a bit of glass missing and a few cracks.

Damien quickly returned to his room and searched for a book he didn't already read. When he didn't found any the boy sighed and sat down onto his bed, watching the sunset.

When it turned dark, the brunette woman in the grey dress knocked at his door before entering.
"How about we take out clothes for tomorrow?", she said smiling.
Damien simply nodded and stood up.
"What happened to your glasses?"
The boy remained silent, making the caretaker sigh.
"Okay" She opened the boys small closet. "What do you want to wear?"

Damien looked at his clothes, before pointing at a black T-Shirt with Jack Skellington from A Nightmare Before Christmas, Dark grey pants and a black Harry Potter cardigan that represented Ravenclaw with its house symbol on the back.

The woman nodded and put the wanted items on his chair.
"Okay. Now time to go to sleep"
Damien nodded and waved at the woman, before changing into his Toothless onesie and heading to bed.
