The following evening Damien 'fell', so now he looked like he played a part in a boxing match. The bossy girl got caught by two teenagers but the caretakers didn't believe them so the girl wasn't punished.

Now, Damien was back in his corner, reading the big book from last time and silently hoping that the man, Thomas, would return.
And he did.

At two pm, the man entered the hall and looked around. After he spotted Damien with the pillows, he directly walked over to him. The four other men were close behind him, even though Patton cooed at a few other children that couldn't see him.
"Don't coo at him Pat, that's a mean one", Roman said, when Patton was adoring the blonde boy that called Damien and his drawing ugly when they visited the last time, and pulled him away.

Damien placed his book down and looked up to the five of them. He waved slightly and the five men started talking like last time.
"What happened to you?", Thomas asked worriedly. Damien just looked away. "H-how was your day..?"
They noticed that he clearly didn't want to talk about it, so they answered his question and started talking to him again.
When they eventually ran out of stuff to say, Logan just started listing some random facts that would come to his mind.

They repeated this every day Thomas was able to visit. To the man and his sides was long clear that they wanted to adopt this boy. But Thomas wanted (and the four agreed) that the boy trusted them, before they would pull him out of his home.
So now, a month of visiting and talking later, Thomas asked the question.

"Hey Damien?"
Called boy looked up from his drawing at the talking man.
"Would you be fine with me adopting you?"
Damien's eyes went wide and before he could even think about it, he felt himself nodding. Thomas smile went brighter than before. "Alright! Let's get the papers done, shall we?"

After the papers were signed and the five men helped the little boy pack his belongings, the four invisible men disappeared and Thomas and Damien entered Thomas' car before driving off.

After half an hour of driving the two of them finally reached the house. Damien grabbed his backpack full of drawing stuff and a suitcase full of books while Thomas took the one with the boys clothing.
"I haven't done your room yet. I wasn't quite sure if you'd want to come with me and thought we could do it together. For now I made the guest room ready. I hope that's okay with you?"
Thomas looked down at the boy who nodded smiling. He actually smiled in front of someone.

Damien still wasn't sure if that was the right choice to make and he was still afraid of the new surroundings but it was worth a shot.
