A few days had passed. Thomas was still really nice to him and so were the others. Damien slowly started to really trust the men. He still barely talked, but when he did, the boy wouldn't stutter as much as he used to anymore.
Damien also found out that Thomas seemed to be some kind of celebrity and Thomas explained what he did for a living. With that, he explained why the four others were invisible for everyone else.
The boy was amazed at this and listened to every detail Thomas and the sides told him.
They also got him new glasses. They looked just like his old ones but not broken.Right now, he was reading a book Logan gave him and the man was amazed at how fast the boy was. Damien knew almost every word and if he didn't, he would shyly tuck on Logan's shirt and point at the word. The man would then explain what the word meant and receive a smile as a thank you. Thomas was watching, happy with how the boy grew closer to his sides. But he eventually needed to interrupt the peace.
"Damien? Can I talk to you for a moment?"
The boy looked up and nodded. He placed the bookmark Logan gave him between the pages he was just reading and then went up to Thomas.
The man crouched down to not tower over the boy and smiled calmly."Over the last week you were free from school because of this change in your life, so you could get used to this. But you will have to go back to school next week"
Damien's face immediately fell. School meant people and social interaction. He didn't like that. Thomas took notice of that.
"But for the first days, I thought one of the sides could come with you, since no one else can see them. What do you think buddy?"
Damien's face lit up again and he nodded while smiling brightly. Thomas smiled in return.
"Just remember you can't freely talk to them or respond. So, who do you want to come with you?"Damien was in thought for a while. Logan could help him in school and he really liked the teacher-y guy. Patton was, after Thomas, the most Dad character to him and never failed to calm the boy. But he also liked Virgil, he understood that sometimes, silence was all someone needed and he could give him good comebacks when someone insulted him. On the other hand, Roman was a prince and was also always there for him. He just couldn't decide, so he just shrugged and looked at Thomas helplessly.
The man thought for a moment before he had an idea (probably from Roman and Logan).
"How about this? The week as five days. The first four days a different side will come with you and on Friday you can decide", Thomas asked the boy and Damien nodded in agreement."Great! Now come on, it's late"
