deja's pov

i woke up and saw the ring on the nightstand and smiled. it was the most beautiful thing i'd ever been given. it was a silver band with an oval shaped opal surrounded by sapphires. alejandro knew me so well and everything i liked. i looked over at him and he was sound asleep, absolutely adorable as always. i was so happy in this moment. i hadn't talked to mattia since the boba tea incident and i wasn't planning on going back. mattia told me to make a decision and that's exactly what i was doing. i got up to shower. i dropped my clothes on the floor and turned the nob to hot. the mirror was fogged up with steam soon after i turned on the water. the shower was beyond beautiful, alejandro really went all out with this hotel. i was genuinely impressed. this is why i had so much love for him. i heard the door open. "i heard the water running and thought you needed some company." i turned around and smiled at alejandro. i turned the water off, "actually was just getting out. hand me a towel lovebug." i turned off the water, grabbed the towel out of his hang, and gave him a little kiss. i wrapped the towel around myself, "what's the plan for today?" alejandro looked excited. "okay okay, so i was thinking we do some shopping. you know times square, that big ass forever21, anywhere else you want to go, and then we eat at black tap that place that has the HUGE milkshakes, and then we go down by the water as the sun sets. superrrrr romantic." he raised his eyebrows, "sound good?" i nodded excitedly, "sounds great baby."

times square wasn't as busy as it was during christmas and new year's eve because those had now passed. i was glad, when the city gets crazy like that it makes me feel pretty miserable. we shopped for awhile, bought some clothes, jewelry, just like any other normal trip to the mall. we took a taxi to black tap and stood in line for awhile. i could tell alejandro was a bit irritated. "i guess everybody wanted to go here today too." he rolled his eyes. he lets things bother him too much and i always tell him that. "relax ale, it's not a big deal i'm okay as long as i'm with you." his cheeks got pink, "you always know what to say don't you deja." about another half hour passed by before we got seated. the waiter came around and we ordered our burgers. i was in shock when they came. they were huge and looked so fcking good. i smiled and thanked the waiter. alejandro smirked, "it's almost bigger than your head dej!! and that's fkcing huge so it's almost impossible." i rolled my eyes and laughed, "oh yea and it's bigger than your..." i looked down. he gasped acting offended. "deja noelle!! now we both know that's not true." i did know it wasn't true but i just liked messing with him. i missed days like this. where we could just sit and laugh and have a good time together. absolutely nobody made me feel better than the boy sitting right in front of me. the waiter came over and set down the check which alejandro picked up. i offered to pay half but he insisted that this whole trip was his treat. we walked out the door hand in and hand and caught another taxi down to the water just in time so the sun would be setting once we got there.

the sunset was stunning. the colors in the sky were reflecting off the water perfectly, the light was hitting alejandro's near perfect face in then best way possible. everything was going our way. sitting and discussing life, dreams, and aspirations with alejandro was complete bliss. we were sitting and talking for so long that the sky was dark and the city was lit up like crazy and that was our signal to leave. our hotel wasn't too far from where we were so we decided to walk back. we had already checked out this morning so the car was packed and ready for us to go. we hopped in and alejandro started playing on his phone to play something. the beginning of 'new york, new york' by frank sinatra started and alejandro smiled at me. he knows how much i love frank sinatra. sometimes i like music you don't have to think about too much, just feel good stuff. we sang our hearts out until the song was over. we were dying laughing until our stomachs hurt. alejandro managed to say, "we definitely killed that." through laughter. we couldn't sing and we both knew it but nothing sounded better to us right now. while stopped in traffic he quickly looked down at his phone, "i think you'll like this next one babe." the beginning of ashley by big sean started playing loud as it could through the car speakers. he grabbed and kissed my hand, "i wouldn't trade it for the world, and i'm just so fcking lucky you're my girl." i leaned over and gave him a kiss on the cheek. after such an amazing two days there was no better way to go home than this.
