Riley's POV
I woke up to the beautiful sun shining against my room. My mom had to wake me up 6 times, like usual. I was a deep sleeper, just like my best friend, Maya. I picked out a floral dress to wear to school. I got dressed and went downstairs to eat my breakfast, I wonder what today's meal was. Like always, it was oatmeal. It would be nice if my mom knew how to actually cook. Fifteen minutes later I hear Maya buzz over the intercom. I quickly run to buzz her in and a few seconds later she walked it. "Sup losers!" Maya says. We all know she never means it and it's actually very funny when she says it. My mom holds up a bowl of oatmeal and says "Maya, come on." Maya replies, "No thank you, I'm not hungry." My mom quickly widens her eyes and almost yells "I wasn't asking, now sit and eat!" Maya plops herself next to me and begins dipping her spoon into her oatmeal. I knew Maya was hungry, it was obvious. My dad soon runs down with Auggie on his shoulders and sets him on the table. "Thanks for the ride daddy!", Auggie exclaims. "No problem Aug.", my dad winks at him. "7 o'clock Riley!", Maya sings. We grab our backpacks and run out.
