Riley's POV:
I waited in the emergency room worrying about Maya. She had already slipped into a coma. I had no idea what happened to her, but I really wanted to know. Why didn't I make sure she was absolutely ok? This was all my fault.

"Maya is ready for visitors, she is still in a coma, but I think you guys should talk to her." The nurse said. My dad and I got up and followed the nurse.

I watched her unconscious body laying in the bed. Tears quickly filled my eyes. My dad hugged me.

"You need to talk to her honey. It'll encourage her to wake up." My dad said. I walked closer to her bed and held her hand.

Maya's POV:

I was deep in my thoughts. I suddenly heard sobbing and familiar voices. I had no intention of waking up. I wanted to die. My dad obviously hated me, and my mom didn't love me enough to stop him. I knew the Matthews at least liked me but their lives would be so much easier without me, plus, they weren't my real family.

"Maya? Can you hear me?" Cried a voice. Riley.

"Well if you can hear me, I just wanted to say that you really need to wake up. I don't want you to leave this world yet. I still need you, so do Lucas and Farkle and even my parents and Auggie. And don't forget, so do your parents-"

Yeah right.

"-and so anyways, I still need you to draw those beautiful drawings that never fail to impress me, and I especially need you to help me grow up and take risks. I really want to know who or what did this to you Maya. I really hope you choose to wake up, ok? I love you."

And with that she stopped. Then 3 other voices came along.

"Hey Maya, it's us, Cory, Topanga and Auggie." I heard Topanga say.

"Mommy? What happened to her? Is she ok?" Auggie asks.

"She's in a coma Auggie, it's kinda like a deep sleep, but she can still hear us. Hopefully, she'll be ok."

"Maya? It's Cory. I wanted to let you know that you're really needed out here. We hope you wake up, alright? You're one of the most important girls in my life. You're like a daughter to me."

If I could cry I would've.

"It's Topanga sweetie. Yes, you're very needed out here as Cory said. I know you're strong and you will make the right choice. I want you to know that you're not just my daughters best friend, but you're also like a daughter to me."

Topanga was obviously right. I was strong. I didn't need my mom and my dad, because my real family was the Matthews.

"Maya? Its me, Auggie! I hope you're ok. When you wake up, I promise I won't try to steal Riley from you anymore. Maybe you and I can play together some more. I like you Maya, you're really funny and smart. Please wake up."
