Maya's POV:
It was now Monday morning. My face felt all bruised. After all I had a black eye and a huge bruise on my left cheek. Maybe I could just cover it up with some makeup. I open my makeup kit and apply makeup to the bruise. It quickly disappeared. Then I tried applying it to the black eye, but it didn't turn out so great.I ran to Riley's apartment. Riley buzzed me in and I entered.
"Sup losers,"
"Hey Maya," Topanga shouted from the other room. "Aug, come on you have to put it on!"
"No! I don't want to!" I heard Auggie argue. He came running down to the living room, while Topanga chased him. She was holding one of those ugly, but cute Christmas sweaters. I quickly plop down next to Riley on the dining table to enjoy the show.
"Auggie you have to wear it for your play date with Ava! She gave it to you as a present and she's probably expecting you to wear it!" Topanga said, trying to catch Auggie.
"No! It's ugly and I don't like it!"
"Riley, as much as I'd like to sit here and enjoy the show, it's 7 o'clock," I tell Riley.
"Whoops we gotta go bye!" Riley yells as we grabbed our backpacks and ran out the door. We hop onto the subway.
"So what'd your parents say about you missing dinner?" Riley asks."Oh," I pause "they were pretty chill about it," I lie. I hated lying to Riley but I had to. If I told her she'd probably tell her parents and both my parents would've been arrested and I would've ended up in a foster home.
We walked into school. We greet Farkle and Lucas as usual.
"Hey Riley can I ask you something?" Lucas asks.
"Yeah of course you can!" Riley exclaims as Lucas slightly pulls her aside.
"I wanted to ask if you wanted to go out to eat or something tonight, sound good?"
"Yeah sure thing!" Riley squealed with excitement. They picked out a place and Riley ran to me.
"Did you hear? He asked me out!" Riley squeals. I felt really jealous. No, I couldn't feel jealous, I should be happy for Riley. I didn't feel jealous about Lucas, but about Riley. Shit.
"I heard! Congratulations!" I tried sounding happy for her. She squealed all the way to history class.
After school, I went to Riley's house. I did everything I could to stay away from my house, especially after yesterday.
Riley started getting ready for her date. She told her mom but didn't dare tell her dad.
"What should I wear? What should I say? What do we even talk about?" Riley was a huge train wreck.
"Riley don't worry, just do what you want and if he doesn't like you for who you are, then he doesn't even deserve you," I reassure her.
"Thanks Maya, you're the best!" She hugs me. Did I mention that her hugs were the best? She picks out a cute red dress with white flower designs all around it. She wears a small white blouse and white flats with it. Defiantly something she would wear.
"Cute! Cowboy will defiantly love it," I bit my lip. Why'd I feel jealous? Riley was my best friend and nothing more than that. I couldn't have feelings for her, right?
"Maya, you ok?" She asked sympathetically.
"Yeah I'm ok, why?"
"I don't know, You've looked down ever since this morning,"
"Nah, don't worry about it! Come on, you've got a date tonight,"
