Maya's POV:
I ran to my house, which was unlocked and empty. I closed the door behind me and sat on the floor, sobbing. Why did Riley have to like Lucas? Why couldn't she like me? Why did she have to be so likable and beautiful? Why did I have to like her? What was that dream about? Why did I kill Auggie, Farkle, and Lucas? Why did I keep getting covered in smoke? What happened to Riley? All these questions overwhelmed me and I couldn't stop crying.
"Maya!" Riley opens the door. "What's wrong?"
"You! And how'd you find me?"
"What do you mean me? And well I quickly ran after you."
"I mean you like Lucas and not me!"
"Of course I like you, that's crazy!"
"Yeah but not like you like Lucas..." Tears ran down my face as I choked on my words.
"What?"
"Riley, I like you. In fact, I love you. I found out I had a crush on you ever since Lucas asked you out. It made me really jealous and I've had dreams about it too. I understand if you think it's weird, I found it weird myself."
"...Maya, if you want I'll stop going out with Lucas, and we could go out if it's what you really want. Who knows? Maybe I'll find out I have feelings for you too." Riley said sincerely.
"Really? Please don't do this just because you don't want to hurt me."
"Well I don't want to hurt you, but this could also teach me somethings, and maybe our relationship will actually last." She smiles.
"Ok." Tears rush down my face as we hug each other. "Just please don't tell anyone about it yet, I don't want everyone to suddenly know I'm bisexual."
"I won't. I understand." She got up and reached for my hand. I grabbed it as she pulled me up. "You ok?"
"I'm always ok." I smile from ear to ear.
--------------------------------------------
Riley's POV:I walked with Maya back home. I agreed to go out with her because I thought it would be really interesting and good for Maya and I. Plus, Lucas was growing boring. I grab my phone and unlock it.
"What are you doing?" Maya asks.
"Calling Lucas to tell him I can't see him anymore, and to save this date on my calendar." I wink.
"Weirdo." She shoves me playfully. I look for Lucas' number and call him.
"Hello?" He picks up
"Hey."
"What's up?"
"Are you busy? We, uh, need to talk." I say.
"I'm free as ever. What's wrong?"
"I just wanted to say, I don't think we should see each other anymore. It's not that I don't like you, I just don't have time for a boyfriend yet. I really hope this doesn't ruin out friendship at all, because you're a really really great friend and I don't want things to be awkward between us at all and-"
"It's ok Riley, really. I've been havin family issues myself."
"So are we cool?"
"Yeah we're cool." He says calmly. I imagined him smile.
"Alright, I'll see you at school tomorrow, buddy!" I laugh.
"Ok, bye."
"Bye." I hung up. Maya grabs my hand and smiled at me. We joyfully walk to my apartment.
-------------------------------------------
Maya's POV:We both jumped to bed. We lay down besides each other and say our good nights. We start drifting off to sleep.
"Hey Maya?"
"Yeah?"
"Promise me two things."
"What?"
"That if something ever happens to out relationship, we'll still remain friends no matter what."
"Deal." I yawn.
"And when we kiss... Go easy on me, I don't have much experience."
"Well then we can always practice." I grin.
