Riley's POV:

Maya's condition got worse. She was too weak to even sit up. I sadly forgot to bring a thermometer or medicine, but her forehead burned. I had no idea how to treat her. I really should have brought medicine.

"Maya? Are you hungry? Do you need anything?" I whisper softly.

"Just buy me medicine... Please. Go to the drug store across the street and buy medicine." She croaked.

"You really want to waste money on it?"

"Yeah don't worry, we have a lot of money."

"Ok but I don't think I should leave you here alone and sick."

"Riles, I'll be fine. I swear."

"Ok..." I slowly walk away from her. We currently were staying in between two small stores. It seemed like a small little city. Barely anyone came to the stores. I saw the drug store Maya was talking about. I ran across the street, the city was so quiet and empty I didn't even have to look to see if any cars were coming.

I walked into the store with my bag and all my money. I walked up and down the aisle for medicine. I looked for Motrin or Advil. I saw the pills for it and ran to the cashier. I put the Motrin on the desk and the nice lady scanned it.

"And what are you doing buying Motrin little girl shouldn't you be at school?" She asks.

"I'm homeschooled. I need the Motrin for my friend. By the way, what city exactly is this?"

"Why sugarcube this is Rock-land, New York! The total is 12.39."

"Thank you!" I chimed as I handed her the money and ran out the door. I crossed the street and quickly sat next to Maya. "Alright I got it!" I handed her the pill and a water bottle.

"Thanks Riles." She smiles as she swallows the Motrin.

Farkle's POV:

I was still shocked by what Mr. Matthews explained to Lucas and I. I really wanted to help finding them, so did Lucas. Mr. Matthews said he was going to call the police again to tell them to start searching farther. He was also planning on driving around tonight, looking for them.

Lucas and I offered to come along with him. At first he resisted, but he thought the more people, the more help. Shawn even insisted on coming and helping.

We all waited for Mr. Matthews at his apartment. As soon as he got ready, we drove to Shawn's house to pick him up.

Shawn's POV:

I got ready before Cory got here. After a little waiting, I decided to snoop around Maya's room. I looked through one of her little sketchbooks she left behind. All the drawings were amazing, way beyond the capability of a normal 13 year old girl. The drawings made me tear up.

I turned around towards her closet, and there I saw it. It was a finished portrait of me and Maya saying "To the best dad ever, Merry Christmas!" I completely lost it and started crying. She was going to give this to me on Christmas, but I completely ruined it for her. I guess she found out I wasn't such a great dad after all, huh?

I hated that things never went my way. I hated that good things never happen to me. I hated that I couldn't keep a simple relationship with someone. I hated that I drove everyone away. Just like with Angela, we went out, we broke up, we went out again, we broke up, we went out again, and then she went to Europe, and I never saw her again ever since.

I should've asked her to marry me. If only I knew where she was.
