Maya POV:
Many days passed after the sleepover. It was now Friday and we were at school, listening to Mr.Matthews lecture us about the civil war(bore). Riley has been clinging on to me like chewed gum ever since the sleepover. I had no idea I've been sleep talking lately, I had no idea I was even dreaming about anything either. Although I really do wish death was an option, I cared about Riley and I wouldn't want to to anything that would make her the slightest bit upset.
During lunch, Missy Bradford decided to sit next to us.
"What are YOU doing here?" I ask.
"Oh my, why so rude Maya?" Missy says with an innocent tone that I just hated so much.
"Just leave," Riley demanded.
"Hey Maya, I saw this exhausted lady at the diner. She looked a lot like you! Turns out she was your mom, I'm so glad you're following your mother's footsteps. Who knows? Maybe you'll become a stripper to impress her some more!" Missy says mockingly.
I was so ready to snap. I punched her right in the face and ran out as I felt hot tears trickle down my cheeks. I felt so humiliated I couldn't take it anymore. I ran out of the school and ran down the streets of the big city.
