The Taken | Completed

Chapter 3

Aimie sat down on the edge of the bed snatched Leanne's phone out of her hands and put it in her dressing gown pocket. 

"Aimie, give that back"

"That's Auntie Aimie to you" Which earnt a small chuckle out of the young teen. "And no I won't give it back, not until you tell me what's wrong."

"Nothing's wrong, I'm fine," Leanne said coldly, avoiding her Aunt's face.

"Oh yeah, I forgot, crying at two in the morning means you're completely fine, doesn't it?" They both smiled briefly

 "Le, " The use of Leanne's nickname caught her completely off-guard, no-one ever called her 'Le' except her mum occasionally, but most people just called her Leanne as it wasn't a long name anyways.

"Something's wrong and if you don't tell me right now,  I will go and get Natalie."

"You see, that's the reason I can't tell you, Auntie Aimie" Leanne finally looked at Aimie. "It's not a big deal anyway. I'll be fine now, I would tell you, it's not that I don't trust you or anything, I just can't risk Mum finding out."

"So you're admitting you're upset now"

Leanne didn't reply. Aimie went to get up but felt a hand grab her wrist.

"Where are you going..."

"To get your Mother, maybe she can pry it out of you"

"Don't, fine, I'll tell you"

Aimie sat back down on Leanne's bed with a worried expression on her face. Leanne instantly regretted what she just said and looked at the clock. The time read '3:36' Natalie would be up in an hour so she hoped she could tell Aimie, let Aimie stay for a bit and have all the lights off and her Aunt out of her room in less than an hour.

"Check the date" 

"What has this got do with anything?"

"Just do it."  

Aimie was puzzled, she couldn't what on earth the date could have to do with Leanne being upset. Maybe it was an anniversary of a death but she couldn't think who but she did as her niece instructed her.
