Chapter 29

She kept a hand on the small bump on stomach as her other rose to cover her mouth. Her own daughter thought like that. She couldnt text anyone to tell them she was safe-ish — her phone was destroyed and she wouldn't let herself be caught again.

"Leanne?" She whispered, so used to being slient that it felt strange.

Leanne knew her mother's voice. She could distinguish it from a mile away.

"Mama?" As she turned in desperation, she caught sight of the older woman. Frozen by shock, she stood completely still for a second, paralysed by surprised. Her eyes fixed on Natalie, jaw fallen slightly.

When it hit her, a flood of tears fell.

No one said a word.

Draping her skirt against the ground, she ran towards her mother, her arms flinging around her neck as their bodies collided.

"You're alive Mama. You're Safe,"

"I'm not safe. I'm safer,"

Finishing this book is a massive accomplishment because it was the first book I started on the 4/1/20 and now it has come to an end! It's sad but I'm rounding off  most of my books now!
