Guess who's coming home!

After months of waiting, crying and worrying, my baby is coming home tomorrow! He was originally supposed to go home last week but he had a setback with his eating. As long as he eats well tonight, he'll be home tomorrow!

I think the setback was due to the fact that he got circumcised and was in too much pain/trauma to eat. I personally didn't want to circumcise him, because I figure if it's on your body, you should just leave it there. I've also heard it makes them less... um... sensitive in that area, but hubby's opinion won out because I'm not a guy and therefore don't feel like I can have a real opinion on the issue. I'm pretty sure that's what's kept him in NICU an extra week though.

So much has happened, and I know I haven't written in forever and it's just because things have been crazy. In a good way.

The first good thing is my aunt is offering to help us financially so I can stay home with Ethan for the rest of the school year! I'm so relieved and so grateful because this is a dream of mine. I know I'll never get to be a stay at home mom, but this is the best I will ever get to bond with my child, take him on walks and errands, play games with him, hold him for hours, etc. I'm so thrilled! Plus I never have to go back to that horrific job ever again. I've scheduled my certification test for the end of January, and if I pass I'll be applying to be a high school history teacher next year! I failed the practice test though so I must do a ton of studying in the coming weeks. :(

Another good thing is I've started intermittent fasting and I'm finally losing this baby weight. I fast for two days and eat for five each week. During the fast you just drink water, tea or black coffee. Surprisingly it's much easier for me than I thought it would be. I've been so busy I haven't really thought about food. I feel much healthier too.

We completed the finishing touches on Ethan's room last week and it's all ready for him. The car seat is set up in the car and the bassinet, swing, playpen and stroller are all put together. I'm finally going to therapy this week and I'm taking him with me so my therapist can see him (she insisted), so that will be his first outing. I'm so excited!

The only thing that isn't good right now is that my sweet doggie, Ranger, has injured himself somehow and is in extreme pain. He cries anytime he moves. I'm worried because he's fourteen years old, and this might be something more serious than just a strained muscle. I'm taking him to the vet first thing tomorrow because they're closed today. I just feel so terrible for him. :(
