Ian got a job that would allow him to mingle in with the masses. Steve and Haley also took up jobs that ended up having the same route as Ian. And they ended up walking home together like they did when they were in the academy. "Hey, today we are having a party. The entire department staff is attending, you should come too," said one of Ian's co- workers. "I need to head home," said Ian. "You always go home after work. You should take a break every now and then," said another co-worker. "No thanks," said Ian heading out. "Ian," called out a voice but Ian ignored it. "Hi, we work together. Seems like we have the same route. I'm..." "I'm not interested in you. Stay away from me," said Ian cutting her off and walking away.
"How many is that now?" came Steve's voice when that woman ran off. "What are you guys talking about?" asked Caren walking with Haley and Gin. "Ian just rejected another woman," said Steve. "Where are you going? Did you forget it was our once a month meet up?" he added when he saw Ian trying to leave. "How many years has it been since we graduated? Its about time you settle down like your brother, like us," said Haley. "You should settle down instead of returning to that empty house of yours," said Caren. "Or at the very least have someone in your life every now and then, if you don't want to settle down yet," said Steve. "Stop trying to lead him down the wrong path," came Vincent's voice.
"But you really should settle down or at the very least have a girlfriend," said Vincent. "It's about time you gave up and moved on. That one isn't coming back," he whispered. Ian just ignored him. He had become used to them talking like this and giving him such advice. He used their annoyance as a practice to control his atmosphere and emotions.
