"I think he's mad at me."

"Who?"

"Mattia." Kairi replied.

"Why?" Alvaro looked up from his phone to look at the boy questioningly.

"Actually he's mad at all of us. Not just Kai." Alejandro butted in as he sat down his phone.

"He's not mad at me?" Alvaro said making Alejandro raise his eyebrows.

"No?"

"I mean...he didn't seem mad when we were in class yesterday but then again the only thing he talked to me about was class work." The short boy added, scrunching his face up as he thought about it.

"Exactly. He has a stick up his ass because we didn't talk to Jenna. Like notice how he hasn't been bullying Robert as much?" The older said and Robert looked at him offended.

"What do you mean?"

Alejandro rolled his eyes. "What I just said. You're the only one who tried to make conversation with her, Robert."

"Is that supposed to be a bad thing?" The latter asked making Alejandro pinch the bridge of his nose.

"It-it doesn't matter, everyone has their own opinions on that-" He started before Kairi cut him off with a mumbled "clearly."

The older boy frowned slightly at that before continuing. "The point is, is that Mattia isn't mad at you but he's clearly pissed at us because we apparently hurt Jenna's feelings by 'being rude' and 'ignoring her'." He made quotation marks with his finger for emphasis while speaking in a mock tone.

A slight frown made its way on Roberts face, feeling sympathy for the girl. "But she never did anything to you...."

Alejandro's jaw clenched for a brief second as a memory flashed in his brain before he cleared his throat. "He hurt Mattia which hurt me." He said but it sounded strained, Kairi noted, starting to inspect Alejandro's body language more.

"Maybe if you paid more attention."

"Hey don't forget that Mattia hurt her too. It wasn't just a one way thing." Robert retorted.

".....so you agree with them dating?"

"Does it matter? They're already together and all we can do is respect that. And if Mattia gets hurt then we'll be there to patch him up and make him feel better again. So we might as well play along if he's happy." Robert replied making everyone else look at him surprised.

"Wow that was probably like, the smartest thing you've ever said." Alvaro commented with a laugh.

"Shut the fuck up." The latter laughed.

It was silent for a couple of moments before Alejandro sighed. "I guess you're right."

"Wow a first." Kairi finally spoke up and Robert through a pillow at him which the small boy threw back twice as hard.

Alvaro slid off the bed and came to sit down next to Alejandro before putting an arm around him and pulling the taller towards himself. "Jeez Ale, I've never seen you so upset before. Well...except for the first time they started dating." Alvaro commented innocently but he unknowingly had made the wheels in Kairi's head start rolling.

Wait a damn minute. Kairi thought as he straightened up. Now that he thought about it Ale was pretty toxic about the situation a month into them dating for the first time but Kairi was too busy dealing with his own heartache to focus on his friends. But now that the boy was observing more he realized that something was definitely up. Maybe him and Jenna had something going on....Nah that couldn't be it.
