Things to remember for this chapter: Mattia and Kairi kissed on Chap 25. This is where Kairi's memory fully disappears.
That being said, he does remember some things from chap 23 n 24 but it's hazy.

"Why are we at the school?"

Mattia didn't reply, instead grabbing onto Kairi's hand and leading him around the school until the football/soccer field finally came into view.

"Mattia...what're we doing here?" Kairi asked again, thoroughly confused as to why they were here.

"You'll see."

Amidst the short boys confusion, it was quite peaceful as the two walked towards the field. The wind blew gently through the pairs soft locks, setting the scene perfectly—this is exactly what Mattia wanted.

It was serene and Kairi couldn't help but feel a rush of warmth go through him. He had never had this feeling before and even though it was foreign to him, Kairi didn't hesitate to welcome it with open arms.

The pair reached the bleachers and Mattia briefly let go of Kairi's hand to climb on to the third step instead of just walking up the stairs like any other person would do.

The small boy rolled his eyes before going up the steps and sitting down beside Mattia, suddenly feeling quite nostalgic. Coincidentally they were in the same exact position as they were in when the younger boy brought Kairi outside to ask him why he had been so off with him.

And instead of answering Kairi panicked and ran into the changing rooms to get away.

But obviously that didn't end the way he intended it to.

But I guess it did in the long run because now he was here with his best friend. No longer having to scoot away from him, no longer having to resist the urge to just intertwine their fingers together.

No longer having to pretend he didn't have feelings for Mattia.

"What're you thinking about?"

Kairi snapped his head towards the boy that was just occupying his thoughts before shrugging, a small smile on his face. "Just thinking about the past."

"Like what?" Mattia asked softly.

"Just....you know." He paused, ruffling his hair before looking down at his lap and shrugging. "Do you know, the last clear memory I have of us—is me crying in your car?"

"And I honestly can't even remember why....but I think I know."

Mattia stayed silent for a moment as he thought about the right words to say. What were the right words?

"I was scared." He finally said in a quiet voice. "It was so hard for me to admit to myself that I was bi. I just... I couldn't. And for some reason it was harder to admit that the feelings I had were for you."

Kairi opened his mouth to say something but got silently cut off by Mattia's reassuring smile.

"We're here because this is where I finally admitted to myself that I liked you."

The older boy stayed silent for a couple of moments, instead just looking intently into his best friends eyes before snorting. "You figured out you liked me on a soccer field? How?"

Mattia's smile dropped into an unimpressed line as he rolled his eyes. "Yeah on a soccer field, and what about it?" He scoffed before flicking Kairi under the chin. "You got some nerve Kai—just wait until I get you home."

And you just wait until the bonus chapter Matti.

Kairi pursed his lips to stop himself from smirking but stayed quiet so the tall teen could continue what he was saying.
