Kairi bounces his leg up and down nervously as he watched the clock in his fourth period class, pre calc. Which was so fucking boring but he dealt with it. He had to if he didn't want his mom on his ass about his grades.

It was 10:40 which meant five more minutes until the bell rang, which also meant five more minutes until he had to meet Mattia.

And he really, really, really didn't want to. He made the mistake of telling him that he had an explanation for how he was acting, which he did, but he wasn't going to tell him that.

He just hoped that the taller boy wouldn't bring it-

RINGGGG!

Kairi groaned and slowly got up from his desk before gathering his backpack and phone. He just as slowly made his way out of the classroom and to the gym area where the field was.

As he got closer to the gym doors the more nervous he got. What could Mattia possibly want to talk to him about? It had to be about how he acted at the mall...there was no other explanation.

Fuck.

He opened the gym doors and slowly made his way across it but before he knew he was at the backdoors. After inhaling deeply he pushed the door open and instantly made eye contact with Mattia's form on the bleachers.

He made his way over and went to sit by his friend, making sure to scoot over discretely so there was a noticeable amount of space in between them. Too bad Mattia still noticed and frowned, looking up at Kairi.

"What was that for?" He asked sharply making the smaller boy feel uneasy.

"Sorry." He mumbled before scooting closer to Mattia and the boy instantly swung his arm around Kairi's shoulder and pulled him so that their sides were touching.

It was noticeably gloomy outside as it had previously rained a couple of hours ago and it seemed like the clouds had not intention of leaving. Kairi inhaled, the scent of salty water engulfing him, making him feel a bit serene.

"So...what's up with you?" Mattia asked softly to which Kairi gave him a little smile.

"Nothing really."

The latter looked at him for a couple of moments before looking out onto the soccer field. "Really?"

Just by his tone Kairi could tell that his best friend didn't believe him. He must be a horrible fucking liar.

"You don't believe me." The wasian boy stated.

Mattia scoffed. "Yeah no shit I don't believe you." He told him, looking back at him except this time he wasn't looking away until he got some answers.

Kairi let out a deep exhale. "Mattia you-you wouldn't understand."

"No? Bet." The boy challenged him and Kairi let out a frustrated chuckle, turning so that the bench was in between his legs, Mattia's arm falling off his shoulder in the process.

Mattia let it flop to his side as he turned as well, mirroring the smaller boy's position as he arched one of his eyebrows.

"Well?"

"Chill your fucking dinosaur tits bitch. I'm going to explain okay." He snapped before running a hand in his hair, a habit he did quite often.

He let out a quiet sigh as he gathered his thoughts before continuing. "Look it's...it's nothing that you did okay. So if you thought I was mad at you or something, I'm not."

Mattia let out an unexpected sigh of relief at his friends words. At least Kairi wasn't mad at him, that was the last thing Mattia wanted. The very last thing.
